Kentucky Supreme Court serves knowledge, advice to WKU

Law students and community members gathered in Chandler Hall to hear some words of wisdom from Kentucky justices Wednesday

Kentucky’s Supreme Court visited WKU as part of its on-the-road sessions around the state. While on the Hill, the justices heard oral arguments from real cases and spoke with students, faculty and community members.

New SGAlegislation funds student organizations, student services

WKU’s Student GovernmentAssociation passed a bill Tuesday to provide $10,000 in funding to Registered Student Organizations.

SGA’s OrganizationalAid budget, a fund SGAsets aside each academic year to assist student organizations, will distribute grants ranging from $100 to $500 between 33 student organizations.

Community forum gives insight into WKU’s strategic plan extension

The WKU “Climbing to Greater Heights” Strategic Plan, developed in 2017-18 under President Timothy Caboni in his first year, sought to guide the university until 2028; it is now being extended to 2031.

Dean of the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences Corinne Murphy and Director of Student FinancialAssistance Bryson Davis were selected as the Co-Chairs of the Executive Steering Committee for the extension. They led a Zoom open forum on Wednesday to speak on discussions within the new strategic plan committees.

Men’s Basketball heads to Huntsville,Alabama for the Conference

The Hilltoppers finished the regular season 18-13 and 11-9 in CUSA, good for the third seed in the tournament.

WKU Head Coach Hank Plona outlined the path forward and provided positive updates forWKU Men’s Basketball entering the CUSAtournament following two straight losses to end the regular season.

WKU has to shake off the tough finish to the regular season to win three games in three days, with one more loss capping the end of the 2025-26 campaign.

Contrary to popular belief, anxiety can be your greatest companion rather than your biggest adversary, Wedge Seminar Speaker Dr. Tracy Dennis-Tiwary said. But only if you can truly understand it and harness it.

On Tuesday, WKU hosted clinical psychologist Dr Tracy Dennis-Tiwary as a speaker for the university’s Wedge Seminar, with a presentation titled “Why anxiety is good for you.”
