Flurries of anticipation are swirling around campus as students and staff alike bundle up to brace for the first major snowfall of the year
The National Weather Service reports expected signs of a “significant winter storm to bring heavy snow and ice impacts,” spanning from New Mexico toward the easternmost point of Kentucky Warnings of total snow accumulations are expected to range from 10 to 14 inches. With this, power outages, travel disruptions and property damage are expected.

Despite a redemptive third quarter, WKU Women’s Basketball fell just short to Liberty in a 55-53 nailbiter Thursday night in DiddleArena.
Down 10 entering the second half, the Lady Toppers prevented the Lady Flames from scoring during the first six minutes of the third quarter. WKU turned its defensive momentum into offensive rhythm, scoring 8 points in those six minutes and outscoring Liberty 13-3 in the quarter.

WKU Women’s Basketball continues its two-game homestand Friday night against Delaware following a close-call loss at the hands of Liberty Thursday evening.
The Lady Toppers fell to the Liberty Lady Flames 55-53. WKU started slow on both sides of the floor Alively third quarter kept hopes of victory alive, but the Lady Toppers failed to execute in the last minute of the game. The loss keeps WKU in the lowest Conference USAranking at 5-13 overall (1-6 CUSA).


Conference USAreleased its annual Preseason Poll, with WKU Softball predicted to finish fourth in the standings.
The two-time defending regular season champion Liberty Flames were predicted to finish first for the third straight season with 142 votes, followed by Louisiana Tech with 121.
