Passing drivers honked their horns and revved their engines behind thumbs up and middle fingers as community members protested the United States’military action in Venezuela.

Local advocacy group SOKY Indivisible organized the protest Monday on the corners of Nashville Road and Campbell Lane from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. SOKY Indivisible said on Facebook the protest was to “stand up to war crimes” and “constitutional violations.”

Early Saturday morning, the United States attacked Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, and captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. Maduro and Flores are being held in New York City and recently pleaded not guilty to charges relating to narco-terrorism.

WKU Football secured a commitment Thursday from a former starting quarterback at Florida State University.

Brock Glenn has signed with WKU following three seasons with the Seminoles, according to On3 Reporter Pete Nakos.

Glenn has five starts for the Seminoles during the 2024 season, completing 51 passes for 597 yards and four touchdowns, with 97 rushing yards.Against No.15 Clemson, Glenn completed 23 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns.

‘Hope is still alive’: Bowling Green community reacts to mother killed by ICE officer

Members of the Bowling Green community have joined nationwide efforts to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement following the killing of Renee Nicole Good.

Protests occured Thursday and Saturday with members of SOKY Indivisible, SOKY Solidarity, Grayson County Citizens for Democracy, Kentuckians for the Commonwealth, 50501 Veterans and the Bowling Green Community Defense team in attendance.

McIvor’s second-half heroics lift WKU Football to New Orleans Bowl win

Astrong comeback performance from senior quarterback Maverick McIvor sparked a 27-16 WKU Football win over Southern Miss in the New Orleans Bowl.

With freshman quarterback Rodney Tisdale Jr. struggling in the first half, McIvor returned under center for the first time since the Hilltoppers faced FIU on Oct. 14. McIvor totaled 199 yards passing and added 48 yards on the ground with a rushing touchdown.

Tisdale Jr. threw for just 65 yards and an interception before exiting the game. The Hilltopper offense combined for just 84 yards with Tisdale Jr. under center
