WestronglyencourageyoutocontinueyourstudiesasapostgraduatestudentintheFaculty.Weofferexcellent postgraduatecourseworkandresearchprogrammesinarangeofdiverseareasfromAstronomytoZoology.The MScinScienceCommunication,thePGDipinDataScienceandthePGDipinInnovationofferverynewavenues forpostgraduatetrainingandvaluableskillsdevelopment.TheFacultyofScienceishometothreeoutoftheseven DSI/NRFfundedCentresofExcellenceatWits,knownfortheircutting-edgeresearchintheirrespectivefocus areas.Inaddition,theFacultyhasbeenchosenastheleadinstitutionbytheDepartmentofScienceandInnovation tohosttheNationaleSciencePostgraduateTeachingandTrainingPlatforminthedatasciences.TheFacultyof ScienceisalsohometotheWitsAngloAmericanDigitalDome,andtheWitsSterkfonteinCaves.
AcademicstaffintheFacultycollaboratewithleadinguniversitiesandlaboratoriesaroundtheworld.Manyofour postgraduatestudentsspendtimeinoverseasinstitutionsaspartoftheirpostgraduatedegreesandparticipatein nationalandinternationalconferences.Ourresearchersareactiveparticipantsinsomeofthelargeglobalscience experimentssuchasatCERNandtheSKA,andpublishtheirworkinsomeofthebestinternationaljournals.
