The Business Pro Rules
Shoulder First, Always
The shoulder seam of a suit jacket must sit exactly at the edge of your shoulder If it doesnt, the suit cannot be salvaged by any tailor. Every other issue trouser length, waist suppression, sleeve length can be fixed cheaply
Immaculate or Nothing
At business pro level, your shirt tells people how seriously you take the room It must be pressed It must be clean. The collar must lie flat. A £30 shirt in perfect condition beats a £200 shirt thats creased
Polished. Always.
Polished leather Oxford or Derby shoes in black or dark brown Scuffed shoes are the single most common mistake at this level. They undermine an otherwise perfect suit completely. Polish them before every important meeting
One Detail at a Time
A pocket square or a tie not both, unless the occasion demands it A watch, not a stack of bracelets
One thing that says "I thought about this" is enough. More than that starts to compete with itself.
