On October 9, we came together for our Pink Ribbon Brunch in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month�� With plenty of delicious brunch bites, sweet treats, and a fun cookie decorating activity, the afternoon was filled with laughter, colour, and community spirit. It was wonderful to see so many members and friends come together to support such a meaningful cause ��

With our AGM coming up, here’s a quick snapshot of the roles you can run for. Each position plays a unique part in making WISSOC what it is, and we’d love to see more of our members get involved. ����President – Leads the society by planning activities, chairing meetings, and guiding the executive team. Ensures smooth handovers and keeps everything on track.
��Vice President – Supports the President and steps in when needed. A flexible role that helps keep the society running smoothly.
��Treasurer – Manages the society’s finances, budgets, and funding applications. Presents the annual financial report and makes sure we stay financially healthy.
��Secretary – Keeps the society organised by handling correspondence, bookings, minutes, and membership records. The go-to for logistics and admin.
��Events Directors (2) – Plans and runs social and professional events for members. Brings the fun and keeps events running smoothly.
��Media Directors (2) – Designs posters, manages social media, and promotes our events. Keeps WISSOC creative, consistent, and visible.
����Sponsorship Director – Builds and maintains relationships with sponsors. Handles outreach, partnerships, and ensures sponsorship commitments are met.
��♀Mentorship Director – Runs the mentorship program by creating groups, organising meetings, and supporting engagement. Builds a supportive network for members.
��First Year Representative – Represents first-year students and makes sure their voices are heard. A great way to get involved and shape the society early on.
����Alumni Director – Connects with WISSOC alumni and manages our alumni network. Helps link current members with past students for opportunities and support.
��Actions Officer – Advocates for gender equality and inclusivity in STEM through external partnerships, faculty liaison, and s mission forward.




Apply to Jane Street’s INSIGHT program!
We’re inviting students who identifyas women, transgender or gender-expansive to spend three days in our office learning more about what we do and how we do it through a set of trading and programming classes and activities. Attendees will receive an in-depth look into the ways we use math and computer science across our firm to solve problems and foster collaborative thinking. INSIGHT has three different program tracks students can apply for: software engineering, trading and strategy and product. No prior knowledge of finance is necessary only an eagerness to learn and enthusiasm about mathematics and computer science. Jane Street will cover all travel expenses to and from Hong Kong, as well as housing and meals.
