About Wisconsin Visual Artists: WVA is one of the oldest professional arts organizations in America. WVA started in 1900 in Milwaukee and today we have nearly four hundred members in three regional chapters. We hold exhibitions throughout Wisconsin; our flagship exhibition is the Wisconsin Artists Biennial at the Museum of Wisconsin Art. WVA offers a community and a support system to artists at any stage in their career. Because the organization is run by artists for artists, we are dedicated to the well being and fair treatment of Wisconsin artists.
Our monthly meetings/programs vary between virtual and in person gatherings with a spotlight on local events, galleries and venues while we showcase our own members and cater to their interests. About the South Central Chapter: The South Central Chapter has approximately 150 members living and working in an area roughly bounded by the Mississippi River to the west, Whitewater to the east, Eau Claire and Stevens Point to the north and the Illinois border to the south.
