Once again, the collective attention of the LGBT community is turning to South Florida as excitement builds for the 31st annual White Party.
White Party began in 1985 as a pioneering fundraiser to raise money for research and awareness on a new disease called AIDS. Thirty-one years later, the Party remains true to its roots as an important source of income for Care Resource, the nonprofit, multicultural, community-based AIDS service organization, which provides education, prevention, research, care and treatment, and support services. Surrounded by an entire weekend of events, the famed Saturday night actual "White Party" unites a multitude of gay men and women dressed in white, creating a fairy tale party setting. Sunday’s Muscle Beach Party recruits over 5,000 gay men for an afternoon of cocktailing, dancing and partying on the sands of Miami Beach.
