2021 GENESIS GV80
The GV80 is the first and modern new SUV from the Genesis global luxury automotive brand, and is available with a V-6 2.5-liter turbocharged engine or a 3.5-liter twin turbo engine. It is built on a unique rear-wheel-drive platform, with optional all-wheel drive. The GV80’s beautiful center control unit on the center console covers an electronic, shift-by-wire transmission base with dial-style shift. Handwriting recognition through the Genesis Integrated Controller allows you to set a destination or enter your data by simply using handwritten letters on the writing recognition control system. GV80 also features the world’s first application of Road Active Noise Cancellation (RANC) technology, which dramatically reduces road noise while driving to quiet the cabin – generating sound waves of opposite phases in 0.002 second by analyzing road noise in real time. Like all other luxury Genesis line vehicles, GV80 features cutting-edge active and passive safety systems that ensure passenger security and comfort with various advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), based on several world-first technologies. It also has 10 standard airbags, including a center-mounted airbag between the front occupants to mitigate interior impact during an accident. The Ergo Motion Driver’s Seat features seven air cells to reduce fatigue from long hours of driving, and the one-touch comfort control, adjustable from the front row, provides your passengers in the second-row seats with limousine-level relaxation. Doing our part to me means making sure your vote counts to change a president that has openly pushed for laws and policies to discriminate against our LGBTQ community. Trump and his administration have pursued countless attacks on our LGBTQ rights, including opposing our equality in employment and healthcare, and instituting a ban on transgendered citizens who want to serve our nation in the military. Trump has also injured us healthwise and economically. His constant attacks on our leading scientists and healthcare professionals trying to implement cohesive, common sense national public health policies to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus have made our country the world leader in COVID-19 cases and deaths – 5.8 million of our fellow citizens have been infected with the virus and 178,000 have lost their lives. The rapid spread of the virus has also decimated our economy and produced record breaking unemployment. Imagine how different all this would have turned out if the President of the United States had taken this national health emergency seriously from day one, not called it a hoax, and made it his top national priority. Millions less would be infected, thousands more would be alive, countless businesses would still be open, and millions of our fellow citizens would still have their jobs and their healthcare coverage. Ask yourself a few simple questions about the last three and half years under Trump. Do you feel that your LGBTQ rights are well protected and our community continues to make great progress towards full equality? Are you more or less secure about your health safety? Are you better off economically? Is the overall quality of your life better today than it was before Trump came into office? I asked myself those questions and my answers were all no. That’s why I urge you to vote for Joe Biden for President and against Trump, and to encourage everyone you know to do the same! Stay safe and healthy. Cheers,

SINGAPORE POP SENSATION WILS IS ANYTHING BUT BASIC LO: Section 377A of Singapore’s Penal Code states that sex between mutually consenting adult men is illegal and punishable with a prison sentence of up to two years! W: The law exists but thankfully, it is not often practiced. Still, few queer people report hate crimes because of fear they will not be supported by police, due to Section 377A. LO: When did you first know you were gay? W: I was a hardcore gamer and I was always drawn to the male cartoon characters with the beautiful bodies. I didn’t crush on guys in school, but I did crush over the characters on my Playstation! LO: As a pop star, did you live every day in fear that your secret would be found out? W: Yeah, I would often hear people making discriminatory comments about gay people, and I was so afraid to say or do anything that might blow my cover – especially when I became a public figure. I never thought I would be able to live life as openly as a gay man. Last year, Singapore pop sensation Wils surprised his mostly tween girl following by announcing he was, in fact, gay. Within an hour of coming out, he was dropped by the label that had distributed his award-winning album WTF. He was forced to release his next single “Open Up Babe” independently and, in an act of defiance to the label and the music industry that shunned him, he made sure the song’s music video included a scene with Wils running through flower fields hand-in-hand with a man. Wils promised then that the “Open Up Babe” stunt was only the beginning, and he wasn’t kidding. In his new single, “Basic Betch,” he takes on the female persona of party girl Boozy Betch. “Now that I am out and proud, I’m embracing my feminine side,” Wils says. “I’m owning it unapologetically.” Larry Olsen: How did you learn that you had been dropped by your record label? Wils: I had been warned that if I wanted to stay in entertainment in Asia, I was not to mention anything about my sexuality. When I did it anyway, I received a text saying that because of the difference in our beliefs we were to part ways. LO: Dropped by text? That’s cold. W: It stung, for sure. LO: What is like to be gay in Singapore? W: Discrimination continues to be a problem, especially from conservative religious groups. 10 WIREMAG.COM #11 2020
LO: What was the final straw? W: I was in Los Angeles filming a music video and some friends brought me to a West Hollywood bar. I spent the night telling everyone I was straight and then went home and bawled my eyes out for being such a liar. LO: How did your family react to the news? W: I'm the only son in the family and in the Asian culture, the man carries the family title. I thought my dad would disown me, but he was really cool and thoughtful. My sisters and mom were too. LO: How does "Basic Betch" represent the new Wils? W: Basic Betch is the let’s have some fun side of Wils. I’ve been serious with my music for so long. It’s time to have some fun! Check out our interview of Leo and his photographs by Photo Studio Miami. Rafa Carvajal: Where are you originally from and where do you live? Leo Ledesma: I’m from Argentina and live in Miami. RC: What do you do for a living? LL: I'm a specialized fitness trainer. Also, during the COVID-19 quarantine I have worked a lot on my Only Fans platform.

RC: Who is the person that inspires you the most? Why? LL: My father is the most inspiring person for me. He could never betray me and his humility makes him really great. RC: How do you stay in such great shape? LL: I maintain a balanced diet throughout the year based on green juices, animal proteins, eggs and vegetables. Training is a key factor. I perform anaerobic and functional exercises simultaneously. RC: What do you enjoy the most about modeling for photography? LL: What I enjoy most about modeling is generating a close connection with the photographer. RC: Boxers or briefs? LL: Boxers. Lmao! RC: What is your favorite food? LL: My favorite food is Argentinian asado and my favorite dessert is carrot cake. RC: What is your favorite pastime? LL: I am a musician. RC : W h a t i s y o u r c u r r e n t struggle? LL: Having to wait longer to see my family since their flights have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. RC: Is there anything else you would like to share with Wire Magazine readers? LL: I want to tell Wire Magazine readers not to forget to have gratitude in life and to value what they have.
