Finning Energy & Transportation has completed the installation of the exhausts to the gensets being used in a 20MW gas peaking project at Miners Road in thre city of Wrexham. The city represent the key administrative centre of Wrexham County Borough in Wales. It is located between the Welsh mountains and the lower Dee Valley, near the border with Cheshire in England. Thw Wrexham site has been developed by Terra Firma Energy Limited. Assisted by Steve Foster Cranes. Finning oversaw the installation of the final six exhaust stacks, concluding the assembly work on the gensets. The gas project went live in early February, this followed by the cold commissioning phase for the generators. Additionally, a 10 MW co-located solar facility will be added to the site. The Miners Road site, along with Terra Firma Energy’s portfolio of peaking assets, plays a vital role in the National Grid Electricity System Operator’s strategy for scalable power generation.
