What an incredible year it has been to be a Winthrop University Eagle! From the classroom to competition, our student-athletes continued to raise the standard of excellence. We recorded the second-highest cumulative GPA in school history, with nearly 80% of our student-athletes earning a 3.0 GPA or higher, more than 50 earning a perfect 4.0, and two Eagles receiving the prestigious Big South Christenberry Award — the conference’s highest academic honor.
Our Eagles also soared competitively across every season. Volleyball and Softball both captured Big South Regular Season Championships, while multiple programs earned Player of the Year, Scholar-Athlete of the Year, All-American, and Coach of the Year honors. Men’s Golf finished the regular season ranked No. 1 in the conference, Men’s Track & Field claimed relay championships, and Baseball recorded back-to-back 30-win seasons for the first time since 2002. Women’s Basketball continued its success with a third consecutive double-digit win season, Lacrosse earned landmark regional victories, and Women’s Soccer posted the highest team GPA at 3.78. Across all sports, Winthrop Athletics earned more than 50 Big South Conference accolades.
None of this would be possible without YOU — our Eagle Club members. This past year brought one of the strongest membership turnouts in recent history, and the energy in the Eagle Club Room was unmatched. Members have overwhelmingly praised our new food service partner, Chartwells, and we remain committed to providing an experience worthy of your support. While rising costs and growing demand continue to present challenges, the future of Winthrop Athletics has never looked brighter. Your loyalty, passion, and investment fuel everything we do, and we are incredibly grateful for your continued support. Go Eagles!
Our Mission
The Eagle Club is the official fundraising arm of Winthrop Athletics. Winthrop Athletics relies on annual contributions by its members to offset the cost of student athlete scholarships, build and maintain first-class facilities, and fund 16 varsity sport programs. We aim to increase overall revenue and membership each year in order to keep up with the rising costs of running a successful athletics program.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to rising food and operational costs, as well as increased attendance and capacity limitations within the Eagle Club Hospitality Room during the 2025–26 season, hospitality benefits will now begin at the Bronze Level ($1,500 annual donation), which includes two (2) hospitality passes. Additional hospitality access will continue to scale with membership level benefits. We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work to provide the best possible game day experience for all Eagle Club members.

The Winthrop Impact Network represents the elite circle of supporters committed to elevating Winthrop Athletics to new heights. Members of this distinguished group pledge gifts of $25,000 or more to champion key athletic initiatives to support the department in the new era of college athletics.
These initiatives include capital projects and facility improvements, scholarships and endowments, revenue sharing and NIL initiatives and elevating the student-athlete experience. Winthrop Impact Network members leadership and generosity set the standard for excellence, helping Winthrop soar higher in years to come.

Commitment Details
Winthrop Impact Network members make a commitment of at least $25,000 or more that is fulfilled over 1 to 5 years. These major gift commitments are above and beyond any priority seating annual donations. While membership in the network is philanthropic in nature, members may enjoy unique stewardship opportunities such as away game travel opportunities, special access to players and coaches and exclusive gameday upgrades, dependent on the level of commitment.
EXAMPLE:
$25,000 1-year pledge = $25,000 one-time gift to Winthrop Athletics
