ith the spring air rolling in, birds chirping their morning songs, and Easter just around the corner, many of us are starting to turn our attention to our yards and gardens. Check for Hidden Freeze Damage Even with frost-free hose bibs, freezing temperatures can still lead to damage. A few hard frozen nights can cause pipes to split inside the wall, and you might not notice it until you turn the water back on. Clear Out Mineral Build-UP If you’ve lived here long enough, you already know our water has a lit-tler personality – what some call “liquid rock.” Over time, calcium and magnesium build up inside sprinkler heads and drip lines, causing clogs, uneven spray, and loss of pressure. A simple fix at home can go a long way. Twist
off your sprinkler heads and let them soak in vinegar for a day. After soaking, use a toothbrush to gently scrub away any remaining build up. It’s an easy way to get your sprinklers spraying the way they should again. Around here, a little prep work goes a long way. Most of these are things you can check and fix on your own in an afternoon. And if something doesn’t seem right after that, that’s when it might be time to give your plumber a call.
