Welcome to the 20th issue of Wine and Dine Hunter Valley! Celebrated as Australia’s oldest and most visited wine region and with a pedigree dating back to the early 1800s, the Hunter Valley is considered the country’s premier food and wine destination and home to some of Australia’s most outstanding wines, winemakers, restaurants, chefs and local produce.
With more Cellar Doors than any other wine region in Australia, the Hunter Valley is perhaps best known for its world-renowned varietals – Semillon and Shiraz – but a tasting here will also have you sipping a broad range of distinctive and innovative wines, from classic to newer varieties.
We take our beer and spirits pretty seriously too, with a raft of new producers and distilleries opening up to give visitors a taste of local craft beers, ciders, gins, vodkas and liqueurs. Look out for the speciality tasting trails in this issue.
As well as producing some of the world’s best wines, Wine Country boasts a savvy and vibrant foodie culture.
