Figgins Family FOUNDING FAMILY OF THE WINE INDUSTRY IN WALLA WALLA WASHINGTON ICONIC

THE NICHE

Leonetti Cellar was founded by Gary and Nancy Figgins in 1977. Gary’s grandparents, Francesco and Rosa Leonetti established the family farm in 1906. It is here that Gary first planted a few cuttings of Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling – creating his first commercial vineyard and unknowingly establishing an entire industry in Walla Walla. Building off the inspiration he gleaned from his grandfather’s bubbling fermentations on the farm’s dirt floor basement, he named the winery to honor his family’s roots. Today, Gary’s son, Chris Figgins oversees winemaking and operations for Figgins Family Wine Estates which includes Leonetti Cellar, Figgins and Toil wines.
