THE OFFICIAL TOWN OF WINDSOR NEWSLETTER
WINDSOR MATTERS MAY 2025
Windsor Celebrates National Public Works Week with Theme "People, Purpose, Presence" The Town of Windsor is proud to celebrate National Public Works Week 2025 in partnership with the American Public Works Association (APWA) from May 18 through May 24. This year's theme, "People, Purpose, Presence," honors the dedicated professionals who keep our town running smoothly while making a meaningful impact on residents' lives every day. From maintaining our roadways to ensuring clean water flows from our taps, public works professionals are essential to the health, safety and quality of life in Windsor. Their work spans wastewater and stormwater treatment, public facilities, fleet maintenance and street operations, all of which help keep our town safe, sustainable and connected.
Celebrate National Public Works Week with us at our annual Touch-ATruck event! This free, family-friendly event is on Thursday, May 22, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Windsor Public Works Facility located at 922 N. 15th St.
The event will be sensory-friendly and free of horns, sirens, and flashing lights. Complimentary treats will be provided.
Children of all ages and their families are invited to sit behind the big wheel of the town’s heavy equipment, take photos and learn how these vehicles are used by Windsor’s Public Works first responders. Staff will be on hand to answer questions, offer hands-on demonstrations and share how these large machines provide essential services that protect public health and enhance the quality of life in our community.
