5th St. Backlots Project Underway
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE EAST DOWNTOWN PARKING LOT
SUPPORTS CRITICAL UTILITY UPGRADES AND FUTURE PARKING IMPROVEMENTS.
Construction has begun on the 5th St. Backlots Project, and the parking lot east of 5th Street between Boardwalk Park and Main Street is now closed to all residents and visitors through late summer.
The project includes replacing a waterline, installing a new sewer line and constructing a new parking lot to support the long-term needs of Downtown Windsor. The improvements are part of the 2023 voter-approved Ballot Measure 200 and will enhance critical infrastructure serving the area.
Residents and visitors planning to spend time downtown this summer are encouraged to plan ahead and review available parking options before arriving. Whether attending the Summer Concert Series, Farmers Market, Camp Windsor, visiting local businesses or enjoying Boardwalk Park, several alternative parking locations remain available throughout downtown.
Construction activities may result in increased traffic and equipment in the area. Please follow posted signage and use caution when traveling near the work zone.

Family Camp Out
Enjoy an evening of outdoor adventure at our Family Camp Out. Activities include a campfire, fishing, paddle boats and a movie on the big screen at dusk. Set up camp in the afternoon before the event begins. A family dinner and light breakfast are included. Bring a tent, sleeping bags, flashlights, bug spray and fishing gear, including a license if required. Registration is required, and a participation fee applies.
National Night Out 2026

National Night Out is designed to strengthen community bonds and foster relationships between residents and local law enforcement. It encourages neighbors to get to know each other, promotes neighborhood safety, and builds trust with public safety officials. The event also combats social isolation, particularly in urban areas, and cultivates a shared sense of responsibility for community well-being.
