5th St. Backlots Project Underway TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE EAST DOWNTOWN PARKING LOT SUPPORTS CRITICAL UTILITY UPGRADES AND FUTURE PARKING IMPROVEMENTS. Construction has begun on the 5th St. Backlots Project, and the parking lot east of 5th Street between Boardwalk Park and Main Street is now closed to all residents and visitors through late summer. The project includes replacing a waterline, installing a new sewer line and constructing a new parking lot to support the long-term needs of Downtown Windsor. The improvements are part of the 2023 voter-approved Ballot Measure 200 and will enhance critical infrastructure serving the area.
Construction activities may result in increased traffic and equipment in the area. Please follow posted signage and use caution when traveling near the work zone.
