Palmer, Chief Curator of the SCAD Museum of Art in Savannah, the presentation at The Gallery builds on Begum’s acclaimed U.S. museum debut at SCAD MOA and marks her first presentation in South Florida. See page 10 for more details.

Outdoor Amenities Abound
A NEIGHBORHOOD RECREATIONAL PLAN FOCUSED ON NATURE
Windsor’s North Village quietly champions a holistic, thoughtfully integrated approach to sustainable living. With nature in the starring role, the neighborhood’s master plan makes informed use of the land including landscaping that respects the unique ecological environment.
The 47-acre master plan features new amenities that allow Members to immerse themselves in meaningful experiences surrounded by nature.
A network of scenic trails and boardwalks for walking, cycling and horseback riding links all areas. Residents can meander from the ellipse-shaped Village Green with park benches at the southern entry through the neighborhood to the “Oak Pantheon” with tree-shaded seating and a firepit on the western perimeter.
Two islands—one in the estuary and the other in the freshwater lake— will be accessible by pedestrian bridges. The estuary will be home to an “Art Island” where architect- and artist-designed works will create an inspiring space for quiet contemplation. The lake island is being designed as a rookery—a habitat for birdlife. A boardwalk around its perimeter will allow up-close observation of native and migratory birds.
Water sports will be close at hand, with a kayak launch giving direct access to the Indian River. Secured onsite storage will be available for kayaks, canoes and paddleboards.
The perfect perch for morning coffee or a sunset cocktail will be an observation tower showcasing sweeping views over Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge and across the mangroves to the lagoon and horizon beyond.
To enhance and expand the community’s health and well-being offerings, a new 13,800-square-foot, state-of-the-art Fitness & Wellness Centre will take advantage of the North Village’s open spaces by extending physical fitness and holistic programming outdoors.

In Conversation WITH
DIRECTOR OF GOLF RYAN SKIPTON
Q: What is the most common feedback you hear from new Members and visiting golfers playing the Windsor golf course for the first time?
That we are in incredible shape. Also, how unique we are. We are a seaside golf course but have a lot of undulations for a typically flat area. This was the intent when the course was built. The community is beautifully framed around the golf course so there are no homes on the interior, creating wonderful long views across the course. Our course conditioning is one of the best you will see anywhere, with fast and firm surfaces and smooth putting greens.
Q: What renovations or improvements does the course have planned?
We will be adding a reclaimed water lake to the right side of our #3 hole this summer. This lake will hold more than 1.5 million gallons of water and will be solely used for irrigating the golf course which will improve our water quality and supply more than enough water during extended drought periods.
We are also evaluating renovating our bunkers in the next few years to improve the playability, consistency, and overall aesthetic look. Several new technologies are being tested on the golf course that will accomplish those goals and maintain their unique architectural look.
Q: In 2024 the Windsor course received the prestigious designation of Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary from Audubon International. How has this changed the way the course is managed and what are your plans for the course in alignment with Audubon?
This is a great accomplishment for Windsor. Only 2,200 golf courses in the world have earned this designation. What’s great about this program is that it highlights Windsor’s commitment to environmental stewardship. Our Agronomy team, led by Golf Course Superintendent Jared Nemitz, already does a great job implementing Best Management Practices. They use science and data to make decisions that reduce chemical, fertilizer, and water usage annually.
The Agronomy team also adds various native grasses and aquatic plants each year to reduce inputs and nurture a thriving lake system.
Q: Tell us about your team and tips for managing a seasonal staff?
We have a great team of Golf Professionals who are experienced teachers and club fitters. We have four PGA Professionals and five PGA Apprentices. Most of our staff members are seasonal. They spend summers at some of the best clubs in the country including Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, Pine Valley, National Golf Links of America, Deepdale, and Onwenstia. We are able to attract top talent due to Windsor’s excellent reputation and a golf program that helps our staff to move up in the industry.
Q. You have a strong background in merchandising. What brands can Members and Guests find at the Windsor Golf Shop?
We carry popular apparel brands including Peter Millar, Sun Day Red, Holderness & Bourne, B Draddy, Greyson, KJUS, Smith & Quinn, Belyn Key, and Hawick Cashmere, to name a few. We keep the shop well-stocked with fresh inventory throughout the season for men, ladies, and juniors.
As one of the premier accounts for TaylorMade, Windsor offers the brand’s full range of demos and rentals. We also stock products from Titleist, Callaway, Ping, and XXIO.

Q: You relocated from just outside of Savannah, Georgia. How does life compare in Vero Beach?
We love Vero Beach and the local community. I have three kids under the age of seven and we enjoy everything Vero Beach has to offer. It is a great place to raise a family with beaches, boating, shopping, dining, good schools, and great weather. Flying out of the local airport is easy, and Orlando and West Palm Beach international airports are only a short drive.
Q: During Florida’s off-season, where do you play?
I like to visit our Members in the greater NYC area to play at favorite spots including Winged Foot, GC of Purchase, Stanwich, Fisher’s Island, Friar’s Head, Maidstone, Shinnecock, Deepdale, National Golf Links, Westhampton, Sebonack, The Bridge, The Creek, Piping Rock, and Atlantic. I previously worked at The Creek and National Golf Links of America so I enjoy returning.
This summer I hope to visit Members in the Chicago area and play Onwenstia, Shore Acres, Conway Farms, and Skokie Country Club.

Reflection Opens At The Gallery At Windsor
EXHIBITION IN COLLABORATION WITH THE SCAD MUSEUM OF ART
The experience of observing works by celebrated British-Bangladeshi artist Rana Begum is shaped and enhanced by light and movement. Begum considers that an essential element of her art.
Viewers can enjoy the experience of engaging with Begum’s transformative artworks during this season’s exhibition at The Gallery at Windsor.
Reflection opened at The Gallery on January 24, 2026. In collaboration with the SCAD Museum of Art and curated by Daniel S. Palmer, Chief Curator at the Savannah-based museum, Reflection is a survey exhibition showcasing Rana Begum’s artistic journey over the last ten years.
Originating at the SCAD Museum of Art and recontextualized for The Gallery at Windsor, this exhibition is Begum’s first solo museum exhibition in South Florida, uniting series of works made over the course of her career. The selection demonstrates the breadth of her practice, highlighting how she expands on legacies of abstraction, Minimalism, and Op art through a contemporary global lens.
“Begum’s work harnesses geometry and light effects to dynamic ends, embracing modern industrial materials such as automobile light reflectors, safety tape, metal or glass panels, and even chain link fence segments,” Palmer said. “By reframing these elements in imaginative ways, the artist produces formally compelling installations with a range of subtleties.”
The Gallery at Windsor is open to the public by appointment. There is no admission fee to visit The Gallery. Visitors are invited to support The Windsor Charitable Foundation with a suggested donation of $15. Group tours including a luncheon in the Clubhouse (limited to up to 12 guests) are available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Group tours are priced at $60 per person inclusive of the suggested donation.
Visit the windsorflorida.com/gallery for more information. Contact The Gallery to make a reservation at gallery@windsorflorida.com or 772 388 4071. Rana Begum: Reflection is on display through May 8, 2026.
Each year, The Gallery donates 100% of donations from visitors to a local nonprofit organization supporting the arts. Donations from the Rana Begum exhibition will support the Alzheimer and Parkinson Association of Indian River County and help fund its arts-based therapies for individuals with memory disorder.

10420 Eton Way
One of the few remaining opportunities to build on Windsor’s oceanfront. From the Village of Windsor, a private tunnel leads to Windsor’s Beach Club and oceanfront neighborhood. Lush native landscaping along Eton Way creates additional privacy from the street and adds to the neighborhood’s “Old Florida” feel. Building placement standards for homes on the ocean are attentive to protecting Windsor’s native dune vegetation and marine life, while still allowing for the most spectacular ocean views and private beach access from each home.
