My mother used to wake up and say, “What a beautiful day. I’ve never seen this one before.” And she meant it.
That’s how she lived — optimistic, loving, hopeful, curious. Surprised by joy.
Always giving. Always thinking of others. Always.
Even when I was 67 and came to visit, there would be a little gift waiting for me — usually tucked under my pillow. What an enchanting way to grow up. You always felt special around her. I had hoped she would see that I named this collection for her. And truthfully, I believe she does.
She would have been so excited — just like when we introduced the Patricia Tunic, a staple in our pattern collection that so many of you remember.
When I open my phone and see her picture, I still talk to her about the day ahead. And in my heart, I hear her say: “It will be the best day ever.” This collection carries that spirit.
I hope when you sew with these prints, when you cut into the fabric, when you make something beautiful with your hands, you feel her love stitched into every inch.
Because that’s the only message she would want you to carry: You are loved.
Your life has meaning. And today — is the best day ever.
