Message from our Executive Director
Thank you for continuing to support Africa Fire Mission’s work! Your generosity and support make our mission possible. It is incredible to see the growth and progress of our Mission and we’re grateful that YOU are a part of our journey.
2025 was the most exciting year for our Mission yet! AFM teams travelled to Malawi, Zambia, and Kenya for hands-on firefighting, EMS, and fire prevention trainings. We introduced 5 brand new projects: First Aid, Active Bleeding Control, Firefighter Mentoring, Community Fire Tips, and Fire Safety Innovations.
• The new Active Bleeding Control program trained 70 dedicated volunteer instructors in Kenya that reached over 1800 community members who have learned what to do to stop life-threatening bleeding.
• Our mentoring program has resulted in significant achievements for the firefighters personally and professionally and has contributed to fire service innovations in their communities.
• We added a second full-time staff person in Kenya - welcome Errol Sianga! Errol has helped us expand our programming in Kenya and Zambia.
• Our fire prevention internship trained 6 new interns - since the internship ended in September our interns have trained over 60,000 individuals.
• This year we received unprecedented donations of PPE from valued manufacturing partners: MSA (1200 helmets) and LION (23 pallets of station uniforms and 500 pairs of firefighter boots) as well as contributions from fire services and distributors across the country.
• We signed an MOU with Metro Chiefs and are looking forward to even more partnerships in 2026!
We are making a positive impact on the lives of millions of people. Through in-person instruction, virtual training, and other educational resources, our outreach is bigger than ever! Through the work of our staff and volunteer instructors, we have reached over 433,000 people, which is nearly 3 times the amount from 2024! Multiplication is happening, lives are being saved, and people are seeing God’s love through the service of our team.
In 2026, we remain committed to growing the capacity of the fire service in developing communities. As part of this commitment in 2026: We will continue to grow each of our programs and expand to new places. We are growing our research initiatives to ensure that the work we are doing is documented and sustainable. We remain committed to our everyday mission to TRAIN, EMPOWER, SUPPORT and ENCOURAGE fire fighters across Africa and in doing so making Africa a safer place to be.

Africa Fire Mission is a 501(c)3 committed to increasing the sustainable capacity of fire departments in developing communities. We accomplish this through training, empowerment, support, and encouragement.
Train:
We partner with Governments, NGO’s, mission organizations, schools and corporations to provide education and training to firefighters and local communities. We use Community Health Education (CHE) to teach firefighters and community members in developing countries to protect themselves from the dangers of fire.
Empower:
We work to increase the ability of communities in developing countries to respond to disasters and provide relief when disasters occur.
Support:
We provide personal protective equipment and communications tools to fire services throughout developing countries to allow fire departments to operate in a safer and more coordinated manner.
Encourage:
We build the capacity of fire services so that local communities are able to provide sustainable public safety and disaster management services.
