UCD Q&A WHAT WOULD IT BE LIKE FOR ANIMAL SCIENCE MAJORS WHO MIGHT NOT WANT TO GO FOR THE PRE-VET PATH?

So in order to go to a vet school, we have to take some extra courses. For example, gen chem 2c and physics are not required for animal science major, but they are required in order to go to a vet school. WHAT UNIQUE EXPERIENCES HAVE YOU HAD THAT CAN ONLY BE HAD AT UC DAVIS FOR ANIMAL-RELATED MAJORS?

3RD QTR GENERAL MEETING OVERVIEW OUR JANUARY GENERAL MEETING CONSISTED OF A GUEST SPEAKER EVENT WHERE KAREN HUNG (CLASS OF 2021) SPOKE ABOUT HER EXPERIENCES AT WHITNEY AND AT CAL POLY POMONA STUDYING ANIMAL SCIENCE. DURING OUR FEBRUARY GENERAL MEETING, CLUB MEMBERS CREATED CAT TENTS TO DONATE TO SPCALA. (SEE MORE INFO PAGE2) OUR MARCH GENERAL MEETING WAS ANOTHER GUEST SPEAKER EVENT, WHERE EILEEN CHOE (CLASS OF 2023) SPOKE ABOUT HER EXPERIENCES AS A COLLEGE FRESHMAN AT UC DAVIS PLANNING TO MAJOR IN ANIMAL SCIENCE.

I will say hands-on experience! I got to learn how to handle a lot animals (cows, horses, rabbit, etc). We had a lab every week that allowed students to learn about different animals. WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE ANIMAL EXPERIENCE SO FAR?

I think working at the pet clinic and getting the opportunity to learn how to handle animals was my favorite animal experience! I also got to play with cute dogs and cats during lunch time :)
