Seascale Golf Club

The West Coast of Cumbria features a fabulous abundance of golf courses representing different challenges, whilst matching all levels and experience. The Machrihanish Golf Club is one of these gems, located within the village of Machrihanish, 5 miles from Campbeltown, the course sits near the southern tip of the Kintyre Peninsula. The golf course features fantastic views over the Atlantic, taking in views of Islay, Jura, Gigha and Northern Ireland. When teeing off on the 1st hole with your drive having to cross the stretch of the Atlantic Ocean, the journey from Glasgow is made even more rewarding.

The 18 hole championship course at Machrihanish was designed by the world renowned golf course architect old Tom Morris, helped by another renowned designer, J H Taylor. Today, it’s clear to see how these designers used the natural contours of the terrain across the surrounding dunes to create a spectacle of golf, overlooking Machrihanish Bay. Machrihanish is largely regarded as one of the last remaining unspoiled links course in Scotland.

The original clubhouse was destroyed by a fire in 2018. Work began on the new building in 2019 and the clubhouse was reopened to members and visitors in early 2021. Today it features a well-appointed bar and elegant restaurant with spectacular views overlooking Machrihanish Bay and beyond. The Clubhouse also boasts a state of the art Swingroom facility.

The Glen, East Links North Berwick.

The rugged and beautiful coastline of East Lothian is affectionately known as Scotland’s Golf Coast with so much choice within an hour’s drive from the historic and lively capital city of Edinburgh and its international airport. The Glen Golf Club – North Berwick East Links is one of the most popular of the East Lothian golf courses. Although golf was first played in East Lothian as far back as the 17th century, a nine-hole layout was not developed in North Berwick until 1894. It was later extended to today’s 18- hole layout in 1906, by legendary golf course architect, James Braid and his design partner, Ben Sayers.

The East Links is an all-year-round golf course and is rarely closed due to inclement weather, playing normal tees and greens throughout the seasons.

The undulating North Wales course plays as a Par 71 from the white tees and stretches over 6,310 yards. With a WHS course rating of 70.4 and Slope rating of 126. With constantly changing challenges due to its coastal location, that demand the utmost concentration and accuracy, Nefyn Golf Club features a superbly appointed 18 hole golf course available to play all year round and a 9 hole course that can be included subject to time of the year and availability.

The 18 hole Championship golf course combines a clifftop front nine with a superb inland back nine and offers a mix of holes which present a true test of ability. The Championship course has a WHS course rating of 71.9 and modest slope rating of 120 which can feel a cumbersome task when the wind is blowing!

Whilst, the 9 hole Point golf course stunning terrain adjacent to the Irish Sea has awesome golf holes testing all aspects of one’s game.

The point does close for the winter with the weather deciding when, but usually around the end of December. It is then restricted on busy weekends and half terms, but they have had to make the decision to close it completely in the summer as it is too dangerous to play due to the pedestrians on the path.

SEAHOUSES GOLF CLUB

Seahouses Golf Club is a wonderful place to play golf, with fantastic views of the Northumberland coast line and Farne Islands, it is a mixture of pure links and parkland with some of the most outsanding Par 3 holes in the North of England.

In 1976, Seahouses’ original 9-hole layout was extended to the eighteen holes that can be enjoyed today and, since this time, the golf club has hosted many Northumberland Golf County events.

Today, the par 67 golf course measures 5608 yards and although on the short side in this day and age it poses a unique and memorable challenge from the championship white tees with magnificent views of the Northumbrian Coastline.

Seahouses Golf Club were awarded GolfMark accreditation at the end of 2018 – a huge achievement for a club of its size and something that members and the management team can be very proud of.

Relax in comfortable surroundings

The relaxing Seahouses clubhouse and extended glass fronted veranda overlooking the golf course and beach is the location for a range of events throughout the year which are open to members and visitors. The warm friendly atmosphere of the clubhouse overlooking the beach and coastline is extended to visitors and their families who are able to relax and unwind pre or post round with a range of beverages and daily menus to suit all palates.
