DRUMLINE transforms the overlooked interior of the washing machine drum into a source of inspiration, reimagining it’s geometry and rhythmic motion into designs. Defined by circular silhouettes and reflective surfaces, the drum becomes a metaphor for domestic rhythm and cyclical renewal, highlighting the cyclical nature of the fashion industry. The collection translates these features into garments that embody these shapes and materials to create a sense of industrial precision whilst embracing organic shapes.
At the centre of DRUMLINE are natural fibres, in particular, wool. Celebrating the heritages of the fibre and the progressive nature of this material in sustainability, 5 different wool materials each chosen for their varying weights, textures and machine washable qualities form the foundation of the collection. The fibres versatility as well as experimentation through layering and screen printing push it beyond its expected role,
demonstrating endless possibilities. The Womenswear embraces sculptural silhouettes that reflect the tumbling motion of fabrics in water through drapery and circular 3D cut outs overlapping a screen printed circular texture on a jacket thats silhouette is exaggerated and rounded. Metallic wool cut outs enhance the idea of garment meets machine. The hero piece celebrates the collaboration of art and fashion, making visible the strong and powerful connection these can have.
DRUMLINE is a connector between, fashion and sustainability, utility and creativity and art as a garment. Celebrating natural fibres as a sustainable canvas for innovation, the collection reframes the often overlooked as extraordinary, inviting its wearers and viewers to discover the beauty in what is hidden.

The custom print on the 100% Italian wool fabric was created through a screen printing process. To begin with the print was trialed using gouache and paper, printed with metal washers. This was then tested on fabric using paint. Once the design was created it was transfered to screen paper with black in used to stamp the circles (using the same metal circles). Then this sheet was used to create two screen printing frames. The frames were then screen printed using two differing colours onto the fabric. The fabric then went in the fabric oven to set the print.
