motion‘Motion’ is a unique collection that takes the flow of movement and translates it into elegant and dramatic garments. ‘Motion’ takes inspiration from Zaha Hadid’s Heydar Aliyev Centre. It uses the flow of the building’s architecture to create a striking and eye-catching texture across many of the garments in this collection. Hadid’s architecture is said to reflect the eternal cycle of life, similarly, this collection takes the aspects of the natural world that flow beautifully together and creates a texture that flows through each of the garments in this collection.

‘Motion’ is a resort collection that utilises many different styles of garments. From long evening wear dresses, to pants suits, to the simple mini dress, ‘Motion’ ties in aspects of many different styles and looks to cater for many different occasions. The hero in this collection is a long, formal/event wear style dress that has a large textured wave flowing all around. This dress is a powerful statement piece which is used as inspiration for the rest of the collection. The wave motif is used throughout the collection in different ways to create pieces that are for a red carpet style event and pieces that are for everyday wear.

Red is a predominant colour in the fashion world today. The shades of cherry red and burgundy have made their way into many wardrobes and many 2025 resort runway collections. Red has been utilized in every garment in this collection. Red is a colour that symbolises power and confidence. In this collection, the colour red combined with the drama of the texture throughout the garments, create looks that empower and give confidence to the wearer.

Jarrah Carlisle is an emerging fashion designer based in Sydney, Australia. With a foundation in sewing and art, Jarrah has always had creativity at the forefront of her mind. She is inspired by bold colours, interesting textures and high quality craftsmanship. Jarrah is passionate about creating garments with the future in mind. It is very important to her to create clothing that will last a lifetime. Through her high quality sewing and pattern making skills, Jarrah designs and creates new and innovative fashion.

As a recipient of an Australian Wool Educators Trust grant, Jarrah has been able to explore wool as a primary fabric throughout her collection, elevating and increasing the quality of her collection.
