Mom’s On The Run kicks off spring and summer training program

The Shoreview Moms on the Run is starting its spring/summer season with an 18-week signature training program from April 24 to Aug. 26. It includes a cardiovascular run or run/walk interval training for all fitness levels along with strength training, stretching and education. The Larson home, previously owned by Art and Edna Larson, is now home for the Shoreview Historical Society (SHS). The second floor will be used to provide office and storage space for the SHS. The home is located on the northwest corner of Lexington Avenue and County Road I, near Turtle Lake School and the Lake Johanna Fire Station.

North metro school districts see fewer applicants One thing most school districts can agree on is how difficult it has become to find teachers. Four years after the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, districts across the nation are still feeling the effects. Many districts are facing teacher shortages, as fewer people decide to pursue careers in education. The 2023 Teacher Supply and Demand Report shows the ongoing trend of district struggles to retain current educators and recruit new individuals

to the profession in Minnesota. A majority of districts reported being “somewhat significantly” or “very significantly” impacted by the teacher shortage (84%) and substitute teacher shortage (89%). The report also states that nearly one-third of new teachers leave teaching within their first five years in the profession. Mounds View Schools Currently, the Mounds View School District fully staffed with teachers. “Our teachers are highly qualified and 98% hold a Tier 3 teaching license or higher and 65% have master’s
