Lino Lakes Ambassadors program crowns 2026-2027 winnners BY LOGAN GION STAFF WRITER
Three incoming Centennial Area seniors — Grace Schuette, Brooklyn Segner and Aubrey Frechette — are the newly crowned Lino Lakes Ambassadors. Fifteen candidates contended for three spots in the program, which partners with the city of Lino Lakes as well as Blue Heron Days. Since 2004, the nonprofit’s mission has been to empower young women in the community to become confident leaders through mentorship, volunteerism and educational scholarships. Segner, who wants to go to college for nursing, believes that the candidacy alone has boosted her confidence. “I definitely think it’s helping with my public speaking,” Segner said. “As a nurse, you have to

She is also the first female commander in the post’s history. “I feel very honored that they nominated me and that they elected me,” Fulton said. “Being the first woman here, I guess I didn’t think about that. But, you know, it’s about time. There are so many women in the military that are underserved, so I feel very good about it. I feel proud that I’m in that position.” Fulton served on active duty with the Air Force for eight years and was a reservist for 13 years more. Her involvement with the Legion, though, stems from a lifetime of
