Chairman’s Welcome

On behalf of Whitchurch Rugby Club may I extend a warm welcome to all players, coaches and spectators to the Whitchurch Mini Rugby Festival 2026.

My thanks go out to all who have made the 2026 Festival possible through their planning and hard work right from the organising committee through to the army of volunteers we have on duty here today.

We hope all the children and spectators enjoy a fabulous day of rugby, played and supported in a positive and competitive spirit!

Car Parking:

At the club, please follow the parking stewards' instructions.

Bus Parking:

All buses will be parked across the road at Sir John Talbot School.

First Aid:

All teams should have a trained first aider and each Whitchurch age group will have first aiders.

Entry Fee:

Cars £10 / Buses £30 (Card ONLY)

Facilities:

• No changing rooms will be available

• Dogs are NOT permitted at the club

• Toilets located in the clubhouse and between the U9 and U10 pitches

• Tea, coffee and other beverages are available from the bar in the clubhouse

• Food, drinks and sweets available around the ground to include Burgers, Hot Dogs, Pizzas and Pork Pies.

Please be aware while some external vendors may take cash Whitchurch RFC is a CASHLESS organization, thank you for your cooperation.

Whitchurch RFC Mini Festival 2026 Tournament Rules:

1. Match duration to be 8 minutes, this is based on number of teams in a pool to maximise playing times.

2. For all age groups, the RFU Age Grade Rugby rules of play will apply.

3. Clubs must nominate their teams/sides prior to the tournament and must NOT switch during the day. WRFC would like to see a mixed ability tournament to make it as enjoyable as possible for all participants.

4. All clubs are required to register their players at the Tent by 9.30am. Any player who is not registered cannot play, unless prior arrangement has been agreed with North-Mids RFU.

5. Players must always play within their individual age grade, unless prior agreement has been made with the appropriate constituent body.

6. The new Age Grade Rugby guidance will be adhered to for the festival. U7-U11 age groups will compete in pools on a Round Robin basis.

7. U12s will play in two pools and the two teams with the most points in each pool will play in the final. 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw with a bonus point for scoring 3 tries in a match. If two teams are level on points it will be a countback on tried scored and if still level, will be based on the head-to-head result.

8. No extra time is allowed in any match, except that added for injury time at the referee’s discretion.

9. Rolling substitutions will be allowed throughout the games during a break in play. All replacements must be brought to the attention of the referee before being made.

10. All team coaches must substitute any of their players at the request of the referee when foul or dangerous play or persistent offending is identified.

11. Coaches must ensure that their teams are present at allocated pitches 5 minutes before kick-off to allow time for the preliminaries to be undertaken by the referee.

12. Where there is a clash of team colours, the referee will decide which team changes shorts or wears bibs.

13. The referee’s decision in all cases is final.

14. Coaches should try to resolve any disagreement over refereeing decisions amicably between themselves, but failing that, any such issues should be referred to the Head of Festival.

You can then go the MY TEAM section and find your team, simply click on the team and you will get your schedule for the day.

You can also favourite it by pressing on the star in the top right and then it will be at the top of the ‘My Teams’ list to make it easier to find and notify you 5 minutes before each game.
