Indeed, selling the equipment is also a very big—some would say the most important—part of the show. Here then is a roundup of some of the major equipment sales deals inked during the drupa fortnight. Launched at this year’s drupa, Canon’s ProStream 2133 already has a buyer in Mclays & MiPost, the first UK company to invest in the new digital press. The company provides a diverse range of print, digital and mail services to a wide variety of customers across public and private sectors. Single-pass printing is up and coming and the much-anticipated collaboration between Fujifilm and Barberán has already born fruit in the first sale of the HS Series
single-pass inkjet solution for the sign and display market. Linney, a full-service UK-based marketing agency, has become the first company in the world to invest in the new, ultra-high productivity, singlepass HS Series. Fujifilm also announced that Kunze & Ritter, a German company with a 40-year history in the printing industry, has invested in an additional Revoria PC1120 press for the company’s showroom in Villingen-Schwenningen. The investment was made to help meet increased customer demand for a broader spectrum of colors and high-quality special effects.The company has specifically cited the Revoria PC1120’s pink ink capability as “a real game-changer.” The second Revoria PC1120 joins the unit purchased at the end of last year.

In other Fujifilm drupa news, Eco Flexibles, a sustainability-focused flexible packaging specialist, has invested in its second Jet Press FP790. The second acquisition was driven by the need to increase capacity to meet “unprecedented demand” from customers for work printed on the company’s existing Jet Press FP790. The Northampton-based printing company is the first outside of Japan to install the water-based inkjet digital press. Across the pond, Concord Direct, a Concord, N.H.-based direct marketing agency for the non-profit industry, chose Fujifilm’s 46kUV Inkjet Printbar System to boost its direct mail production.
