The Stories That Find Their Way Home to the Atlin Museum
by Pierrette Desrochers-Kavanagh
What makes the Atlin Museum so special isnât just its Gold Rush displaysitâs the people who walk through the door. Visitors arrive from all over, each carrying a spark of curiosity and often leaving with something unexpected: a connection.
One man stopped by simply because he shared a name with Davie Hall Lake and wanted to see it for himself. An Erie shovel restorer practically vibrated with excitement at the thought of hearing the old machine start up again. A traveller heading north for a holiday ended up discovering new details about his long-lost grandfather.
Weâve met the grand daughter of bush pilot Paddy Burke, who was delighted to see her grandfather honored-and even shared new pieces to his story.
A woman came to reconnect with her familyâs history, searching for traces of the short time her father lived in Atlin as a toddler, and pointing out that Olive A. Fredrickson, author of the book Silence of the North, was her grandmother.
A young lady bringing her fiancĂ© to Atlin to share the northern roots of her family, she was Charles Gairns great-great grand daughter. Many visitors come hoping to visit the Pioneer Cemetery, where their ancestors rest, or to trace family names in mining records; sometimes identify old photos of Discovery or Atlin. Each name, each memory, adds another thread to Atlinâs golden tapestry. And then there was eight-year-old Atlin, visiting the town he was named after. His parents had watched a documentary about Atlin while expecting him-inspired by the beauty and spirit of this place, they named their son Atlin. Standing beneath the townâs welcome sign, young Atlin felt a connection to the place that had shaped his name and story before he was even born.
These are some of the moments that make the Atlin Museum more than a collection of artifacts-itâs a living, breathing storybook, where people donât just learn about the past, they find themselves in it.

When you only have the portrait
His warm embrace is gone
When you only have the portrait
His voice fades away
When you only have the portrait
I love you is never heard
When you only have the portrait
The tools are never used
When you only have the portrait
The conversation is not heard
When you only have the portrait
No one greets you at the door
When you only have the portrait
Thereâs no footprints in the snow
When you only have the portrait
The tractor remains still
When you only have the portrait
Even the dog is forlorn
When you only have the portrait
Memories will have to do
Iâm so grateful for the portrait
And the memories too Iâll see you later, Trudy Public Meeting May 12th@ 6pm in the

Obituary: Lyle George Coleman (1943â2026)
Lyle George Coleman passed away peacefully at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton on March 16, 2026, with his devoted wife, Trudy, by his side. Following a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Lyle takes his final flight, leaving behind a legacy as a pillar of the Northern aviation community.
Born in Whitehorse on August 29, 1943, Lyle spent his formative years in Atlin, BC. Growing up in the rugged beauty of the North, he developed a lifelong connection to the land and its people. He attended school in Atlin and Whitehorse, forging friendships that would last a lifetime.
Lyleâs true passion was found in the skies. An accomplished pilot, he spent years navigating the challenging terrain of the Yukon and Northwest Territories. He was a familiar face at Trans North, where he eventually served as Chief Pilot. Many will remember him behind the controls of the iconic DC-3; notably, his career was intertwined with the history of the CF-CPY the aircraft that now serves as the worldâs largest weather vane at the Whitehorse Airport. Lyle eventually transitioned to flying 737s out of Calgary, but his heart always remained in the North.
When Lyle retired from flying, he spent summers at his home in Atlin. Once it was known how capable a marine mechanic Lyle was, Atlin Lake boaters were waiting for his arrival in the spring for their boat motors to be serviced and repaired. Lyle loved this volunteer work and once done, he spent time on his boat cruising and fishing. His many friends in Atlin will sorely miss him as will his summer dog companion, Frankie.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Trudy, son Michael and grandchildren Jenessa, Brandon and a wide circle of friends (family) and fellow aviators who will miss his steady hand, sharp wit and stories of the âGolden Ageâ of Northern flying. Predeceased by his infant daughter Yvonne, son Duane, both his parents and former spouse Eve.

âA Measure of Wealthâ
Time for yourself is a measure of wealth.
Do you take time out of your work week for relaxation to recharge your battery that enables you to give wholeheartedly and sufficiently to family and dear ones?
Do you spend some portion of your time advancing the dream of a better life or on creative endeavors to enrich your soul?
Do you make time for your physical and mental health including nutrition, laughter, and the give and take of love?

When you do, youâll feel richer for doing so.

The Mechanisms and Corollaries of False Flag Orchestrated Operations
Summary drawn from 25 years of common-sense pattern recognition
By Stephen Badhwar
Core Mechanisms:
1. Critical timings
2. Sensational targets
3. Compartmentalization of operations
4. Immediate media fixation upon singular story
5. Government messaging unified with mainstream media messaging
6. Uncharacteristically consistent mainstream media messaging across all outlets
7. Simple storylines repeated programmatically by beholden agencies, outlets, and institutions
8. Implementation of âThe Big Lieâ technique and repeating it incessantly to implant belief
9. Methodology of âProblem/Reaction/Solutionâ manufactured to control course of events
10. âSolutionsâ prepared for deployment/implementation well prior to presentation of âProblemâ
11. Convenient and believable scapegoat(s) set up in advance in alignment with media messaging
12. Coordinated insertion of âThe Bad Guyâ as lone gunman/extremist leader/rogue nation
13. Execution of operations carried out on the cellular level providing prerequisite extreme secrecy
14. Censorship and suppression of discourse providing fundamental protection to fragile narrative
15. Harsh and persistent persecution of anybody or any agency that questions official narrative
16. Immediate covert, and overt, cover-up measures implemented to preserve weak narrative
17. Fomentation of fear to prime public for acceptance of tighter control in return for safety
18. Intentional polarization of the population through a âwith us or againstâ us binary logic
Associated Corollaries:
19. Subtle and cryptic foreshadowing
20. Glaring omissions of data in narrative
21. Profound distortions of logic in official narrative
22. Story arc of narrative plagued by inherent inconsistencies
23. Inexplicable stand-down orders or âNo Showâ of security agencies and/or armed forces
24. Inexplicable massive failures in intelligence agencies to predict/avert/or respond to events
25. Inexplicable colossal breaches in protocols of security, intelligence, and defense infrastructures
26. Psychological toll on populace immeasurably higher than direct death & damage toll of event
27. Select few privileged with advanced knowledge allowing unique gain or insider-trading
28. Profiteering and racketeering by same select few evident as pro-active and non-coincidental
29. Government-sponsored commissions and enquiries immobilized by brazen conflicts of interest
30. Potential whistleblowers and informants often silenced for decades due to fear of repercussions
31. Initial strong acceptance of official story dwindles inexorably over time as facts and logic emerge
32. General public incrementally comes to realization as the story falls apart piece by piece
33. Academic scrutiny inevitably demonstrates official narrative as patently false
