SPRING 2026

Welcome to the What on Earth! Children’s Catalogue

Something funny is going on at What on Earth! Funny FACTopia! to be precise… which we are delighted to be publishing as a World Book Day title in March 2026. This special FACTopia! contains more than 100 hilarious facts woven together in bizarre and amazing ways. And this is not our only FACTopia! offering, because pitter-pattering close behind is Cute FACTopia! Amongst the cosy and adorable nuggets you’ll find in this book is a pygmy hippo called Moo Dheng whose ears wiggle when she sleeps and a comet that looks like a rubber duck.

At What on Earth! we also love to celebrate. So when we discovered that 2026 is the 250th anniversary of the birth of the United States, we felt we had to do something big. So we are proud to present America As It Happened, a unique book that charts the history of America all written in the style of a newspaper, as if it happened yesterday!

Our partner for the title is The Washington Post, one of the most highly respected newspapers in the world. William Lewis, Publisher of The Washington Post, sums up what makes this book so special in his beautifully written foreword:

“By telling America’s story as breaking news, America As It Happened captures some of the awe and immediacy of that historical first draft—from the settlement of Hawai‘i to the Mayflower to the Moon landing. Between those landmark moments are others when your jaw might have dropped, your heart pounded, or, as with so many events chronicled here, your eyes filled with tears...”

So join us as we celebrate our new Spring season of non-fiction fascination and fun with dollops of humour and a riveting historical anniversary.
