Honey Bun Cake Ingredients:

1 (18.5 oz.) package yellow cake mix with pudding 2/3 cup vegetable oil 1/3 cup water 1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2/3 chopped pecans glaze

Glaze Ingredients:

1 cup sifted powdered sugar 2 tablespoons milk 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Combine all ingredients & beat at medium speed until smooth to make glaze.

Directions: Combine first 5 ingredients in a mixing bowl; beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Set aside. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon & pecans; set aside. Pour half of batter in a greased & floured 13x9x2" baking pan. Sprinkle half of sugar mixture over batter. Repeat procedure. Gently swirl batter with a knife. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from oven. Drizzle glaze over cake & cool. Cut into squares. Yields: 15-18 servings.

op hurricane forecasters from Colorado State University say the U.S. can expect major activity again this year. In addition, they say there is an above-average probability for major hurricanes to make landfall along the continental United States. “We anticipate that the 2020 Atlantic basin hurricane season will have above-normal activity,” the forecasters said. As residents of the Florida Panhandle, WFEC members realize how important it is to be prepared for hurricane season and just how quickly storms can form and move inland. Right now, the minds of our members may be focused on COVID-19 and the global pandemic but we want to remind everyone that preparing for hurricane season is of critical importance and should be done now. As we know too well, some storms can strengthen very quickly, leading to a rush for supplies and possible shortages. 71677002 It is important to gather enough items and stock up on enough essentials to build a disaster supply kit to last you and your family members a minimum of 7 days (perhaps longer). You can build your supplies up over time by adding a few items each week or month. What items should you include in your disaster supply kit? Here are some ideas:

1. Water. Enough water for drinking, cooking and sanitation to last for at least 7 days – a minimum of 1 gallon per person per day. 2. Food. Enough for a minimum of 7 days. Nonperishable packaged or canned foods & juices work best. Remember to include foods for individuals who have dietary restrictions like allergies, infants or elderly family members. Also, remember to pack some of your family’s favorite snacks. 3. Manual can opener.

It's important to start creating your disaster supply kit before storm season begins. You can build your supplies up over time by adding a few items to it each week or month of the year. Doing that will help prevent supply shortages & ensure you get what you need to sustain your family for a minimum of 7 days.

6. Paper plates and disposable utensils. 7. Pillows, blankets and sleeping bags. 8. Clothes and sturdy shoes to protect you from debris. 9. First aid kit, prescription medications and other medicines. 10. Battery operated NOAA weather radio. 11. Toiletries. 12. Cleaning supplies, garbage bags, moisture wipes and other items for sanitizing. 13. Cash. Banks and ATMs may be closed for extended periods of time. 14. Items for children & infants. Toys, books, games, stuffed animals, blankets, children's medications, diapers, wipes, formula, juices, baby food and other items to care for small children and infants. 15. Tools. 16. Pet care items. Kits for pets should include: leashes/harnesses/carriers; food, water, cat litter/pan; medications, medical records; current photos of you with your pet; and the name and number of your veterinarian. Also, don’t forget the pet beds and toys.

It’s also important to consider adding comfort and priceless items to your kit since you may be away from your home for an extended time and your property may be damaged. Grab any items that are irreplaceable or may provide comfort to your family, especially your children.
