Letter from the GM Hello Wexford Members, Our first Clubhouse event was a huge success! Thanks to all who were able to attend. The staff did a fabulous job ensuring everyone had a wonderful time, from Michele Scott the decor to the General Manager food and beverage offerings and the Caribbean tunes. We were so excited to surprise the members with being able to go inside and enjoy a glimpse of the newly renovated Clubhouse. Thanks for all the great comments on the decor and layout. There are still some little items left to complete the project; however, we are on schedule to start soft openings with the Board, Committee, and Members starting mid-August, which will lead to the Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, September 26. This will be an event you do not want to miss!
We have made great strides in the past few months with the removal of the Pavillion on the Harbour, the demolition of 36 Wexford Club Drive and the removal of the Lil’ Saltee food truck. We continue to look forward to providing you with a new elevated membership experience when you come to enjoy your new Clubhouse. We have just completed the second aerification of the golf course which will assist with root structure, drainage and nutrient uptake. The Greens and Grounds crew works tirelessly during the aerification process to ensure the golf course is in the best condition possible for the membership’s enjoyment. As always, please feel free to stop by my office at any time. I am happy to discuss any concerns you may have or if you just want to have a quick chat.

Letter from the Board President Hello Neighbors, As we enter Fall 2026, there is an undeniable sense of energy and excitement throughout Wexford. The opening of the new Harbour Center was a tremendous Mike McKelvey success, with 377 President owners joining us to celebrate. Since then, members have embraced the space, enjoying the Lockside Cafe and a growing calendar of Yacht Club and other member events. That momentum continues as we look ahead to the September 26 Grand Opening of our new Clubhouse. The Clubhouse project has been more
complex than originally anticipated, but throughout the process we have remained focused on the mandate given to us by our owners: “If you are going to do it, do it right.” Those who have toured the Clubhouse have responded with the “wow” factor we hoped to achieve. Together, the new Clubhouse and Harbour Center represent an extraordinary investment in the Wexford experience and our community’s future. Just as important as the facilities themselves is the team that will bring them to life. Clubhouse Manager Michael Clarke continues to build an expanded Food & Beverage operation with an outstanding group of experienced staff, joined by new

They are supported by an exceptional senior leadership team whose dedication continues to be felt throughout every area of Wexford. Across the community, there is much to celebrate. The golf course is in outstanding condition despite a challenging summer, with owner rounds up 16% year to date. Plans are progressing for improvements to the Tennis and Pickleball Terrace. Our Harbour team is fully settled into the new Harbour Master offices, the new lock doors are performing well, and year-to-date lock-ins have increased 18%. Grounds Maintenance and Security also continue their important work caring for our community and ensuring Wexford remains welcoming, beautiful, and safe. I am pleased that we have completed the resolution of the five-year saga with 36 Wexford
Club Drive. The demolition of the existing structure started on June 26 and was completed on July 3. At the Board level, we remain focused on both the needs of today and the opportunities ahead. Work continues to finalize the 2026-2030 Strategic Plan and our long-term Land Use Study, both of which will help guide decisions about future amenities and investments. We are also developing capabilities that will greatly help future Boards facilitate the onboarding of new Board members and make the transition to new Boards much more seamless, strengthening Wexford traditions, and continuing to operate with a strong focus on fiscal responsibility. Most importantly, we remain committed to listening to and engaging with our owners. Owner Connect with the President and other Board members, Coffee with the GM, WexConnect, Board meetings, individual member engagement and our New Member Cocktail Parties all provide opportunities to

strengthen communication and build connections throughout the community, as well as provide a warm and welcoming environment for new owners. Beginning in September, we also look forward to welcoming owners back to attend Board meetings in person at the new Clubhouse. Thank you to all Wexford owners for your continued support, participation, and guidance. The Board’s focus remains simple: making Wexford the very best community it can be. We are fortunate to call this extraordinary place home, and I believe the renewed energy we’re experiencing today is only the beginning. With our new Clubhouse and Harbour Center, exceptional amenities, talented staff, engaged ownership, and thoughtful plans for the future, there is much to be excited about here at Wexford.

A new Clubhouse shaped by the people who know this community best There is something special about walking into a beautiful new space for the first time. But there is something even more meaningful about walking into it and recognizing pieces of the ideas and conversations that helped create it. Long before construction began, the vision for the new Clubhouse started with a question: What do our members want and need from the next chapter of Wexford? And Wexford listened. Beginning in 2023, owners and staff participated in 19 listening sessions designed to better understand how the owners used the Clubhouse, what they valued, what could work better, and what they envisioned for the future. What Wexford heard from members during these sessions became an important part of the planning and decision-making process. What emerged from those conversations was a vision for much more than an updated building. Members wanted spaces that felt welcoming, functional, and distinctly Wexford. With designer Kelly Caron, architect Grady Woods, and Joe Nix of Nix Construction helping bring that vision to life, the spaces were thoughtfully designed around how members gather, dine, entertain, and spend their leisure time. Member involvement didn’t end when the listening sessions concluded. In many ways, it was just beginning. A Construction Task Force (CTF) was established to help guide the project, provide oversight, and maintain transparency throughout the process. Members volunteered their time and expertise to help navigate countless decisions required for a project of this scale. An interior design committee also played a vital role, contributing its time, talent, and creativity alongside the design firm to help ensure the
finished spaces reflected a sense of Lowcountry elegance while remaining distinctly Wexford. Together, these members gave generously of their time and talent,
helping shape a Clubhouse that reflects the community they call home.

One of the most thoughtful elements of the renovation is how the spaces now connect. Rather than approaching the Pro Shop, golf areas, dining rooms, lobby, and gathering spaces individually, the renovation considered how each space could connect to the next and create a more cohesive Clubhouse experience. That experience begins at the new Pro Shop, where even the architecture tells part of the story. Its entrance was intentionally designed as a “mini-me” of the Clubhouse’s main entrance, visually connecting the two spaces and creating a sense of arrival. From there, members move naturally through the Golf Lounge and into the lobby with its stunning custom fireplace before continuing throughout the Clubhouse. The result is a collection of spaces that feel connected rather than separate, which may be one of the renovation’s greatest successes. The new Clubhouse has been designed to be a place members can use throughout their day: somewhere to stop after golf or pickleball, meet friends for a drink, linger over dinner, celebrate milestones, welcome family, or simply enjoy being part of Wexford. There will be plenty to admire in the months ahead — the architecture, furnishings, views, finishes, and details that have transformed familiar spaces and created entirely new ones. But perhaps the most important thing to remember when enjoying the finished Clubhouse is how it came to be.

A New Friendship Across the Atlantic
This summer, Mike and Jan McKelvey, and John and Kimberly Foster, all had the opportunity to represent our community during a memorable visit to Wexford, Ireland — the historic town that shares our name. After Mike initiated correspondence with Vicki Clancy Barron, Mayor of the Borough of the District of Wexford, the four met with her and Council Member Catherine Walsh on July 22 while traveling to Dublin following their Southwest Swing golf trip. The visit quickly became much more than a courtesy call. Over coffee in the heart of Wexford, Ireland, the group exchanged stories about their respective communities, discovering unexpected similarities despite being separated by an ocean.

As a symbol of friendship between the two Wexfords, Mike presented Mayor Barron with a Wexford flag. In return, Mayor Barron presented the group with a beautiful handcrafted glass sculpture, which will soon be displayed in our newly renovated Clubhouse as a reminder of the visit and the transatlantic friendship it represents. Adding to the surprise, Council Member Catherine Walsh recently spent time in nearby Savannah through Georgia Southern University’s partnership with Wexford, Ireland, creating yet another connection between our communities. “It was a fantastic morning,” Mike recalled. “The
conversation was warm, welcoming and substantive. We came away feeling that this was just the beginning of what we hope will become a very long friendship between our Irish namesake and our Lowcountry community.” As Wexford continues to celebrate its traditions while looking toward the future, this visit serves as a reminder that our community’s story extends well beyond Hilton Head Island, and that sometimes the most memorable friendships begin simply by sharing a name.

Mike McKelvey is ending his third year on the Wexford Board and has served for the last two years as President of our HOA. He and his wife Janice moved to Wexford in 2019 after Mike’s long and distinguished business career as a government economist, consultant and later as the head of several companies. In 2000, his career shifted to running Contract Research Organizations (CRO’s) which conducted clinical trials for pharmaceutical products. Before retiring, he ran the second largest CRO in the world with over $3 billion in revenue and over 15,000 employees.
Paul McEvoy and his wife MC have been Wexford residents since 2012, and Paul served as a member of the Greens & Grounds Committee, the Playability Task Force, and the LongRange Planning Committee before being elected to the Wexford Board in 2023. Prior to coming to Wexford he worked in banking, finance, and real estate, and served for 30 years as the Senior Managing Director of DRA Advisors, a prominent real estate investment firm based in New York. Paul managed investor services, capital raising, and marketing for the firm, and was also active in numerous non-profit organizations. Paul is an avid golfer who was active in golf course and clubhouse renovations for his golf club in New York and now serves as Chair of the Greens and Grounds Committee here in Wexford. He is heavily involved in discussions concerning maintenance and possible renovations for the Wexford Golf Course, and has worked closely with our outside consultant to develop golf course alternatives to be decided by Wexford owners in the years to come. Paul also enjoys supporting various philanthropic causes in the Lowcountry, including the Wexford Foundation where he served as Vice Chair in 2023. While Paul is leaving the Board at the end of this year, he’ll no doubt remain an active and supportive owner in our community.
Gary Crandall came to Wexford full time in 2021 after a very successful business career. He first worked in sales and operations for a manufacturing company, and became president of the company at the age of 30. After 17 years as its head, the company grew tenfold before it was sold to private equity. He later bought a division of the company back, grew the business many times over, and sold it after leading it for 15 years. Gary then applied his talents as a member of the Wexford Amenities and Planning Committee starting in 2022, and became co-chair of the group that developed the amenity plan for the new Harbour Center and Clubhouse projects being completed this year. Gary conducted a series of 19 neighborhood sessions to discuss the projects and gain owner input, and after the projects were approved by the owners in 2024, he spent another two years as the Vice Chair of the Construction Task Force overseeing the construction. Meanwhile, he also took the lead in negotiating the purchase of Pier 8 from its private owner, making 28 new slips available for rental by Wexford boaters. Gary was elected to the Board in 2023. In his first year he served as Vice President, and in the past year he served as Chair of the Governance Committee.
Before joining the Wexford Board in 2023 he served as a member of several Wexford Committees, including Finance, Planning & Amenities, and the Golf Committee. As a Board member and later President, Mike has been directly involved with, among other things, the development of our new Harbour Center & Clubhouse, the transition in Wexford’s management team, and new initiatives that have put our HOA in a stronger financial position. His service to Wexford has been exemplary, and we are confident he will continue to support our community moving forward.

Help Shape Wexford’s Future — Join the Board Your 2026 Wexford Nominating Committee is continuing its efforts to recruit candidates for the three Board of Director positions open at the end of this year. We are available to answer questions and assist any Wexford owner who is interested in running. The three departing Board members — Mike McKelvey, Paul McEvoy and Gary Crandall — made significant contributions, but we know there are plenty of people in our community who are both qualified and willing to serve Wexford to continue the momentum they established. These are exciting times for Wexford, and the 2027 Wexford Board of Directors will play an important role in shaping our future as one of the premier communities in the Lowcountry. The next year will see the opening of our newly renovated Clubhouse, and the Board will help face the challenge of putting the new facility on the right path for the future, both as a premier dining venue for our owners and a facility for revenue-producing events. And the importance of the Board will increase several fold in the next three years as it deals with the initiatives contained in our new Strategic Plan for 2026-30 and works with our owner-members to get it executed. As a Nominating Committee we are grateful for the invaluable contributions made by Mike McKelvey, Gary Crandall, and Paul McEvoy over the past three years, and the continuing service by Board members Tony Giorgio, Hillary Thomas, Harry Mellon, Peggy Saunders, Tim Rose and Michael Fajgenbaum. Croquet
On Thursday, March 12 a group of 10 Wexford members traveled to Bluffton for a relaxing day of golf croquet on the scenic lawns of Belfair in the company of newfound friends who share a common love and passion for one of the world’s oldest sports. Players from both clubs were resplendent in the traditional white garb, but skies grew dark at the outset of play with rain forcing a brief intermission. The break allowed for another touch of hospitality as Wexford’s own USCA Hall of Famer Harvey Geiger was kind enough to provide some tried and true tips to an appreciative audience. The rain quickly relented, sunshine was abundant, and play continued to the delight of everybody. Many cheers and rounds of applause were heard across the lawn throughout the day, but the smiles on the faces of the players spoke just as loud, and the first half of the Wexford/Belfair croquet exchange was a fantastic success. The festivities were capped by lunch in the clubhouse, with everybody looking forward to Belfair’s visit to Wexford’s croquet lawn on May 5. Letter from the Clubhouse Manager Hello Wexford Owners,
What an extraordinary time it is to be part of Wexford. Over the past several months, we have watched our community transform before our eyes. We celebrated the opening of the beautiful Harbour Center, said goodbye to the dining tent and Lil’ Saltee, reopened the entire Michael Clarke pool deck, and, most recently, began Clubhouse Manager welcoming members into the new Clubhouse. What was once a vision is becoming a reality, and it has been incredibly rewarding to see each milestone come together. One of my favorite moments of the summer was our Tunes & Tastes of the Caribbean celebration. More than 300 owners joined us for an evening of live music, great food, and friends reconnecting while experiencing many of our new Clubhouse and outdoor spaces. Seeing members enjoying these spaces exactly as they were intended was a special moment for our entire team. Behind the scenes, we have been just as busy preparing for this next chapter. Food & Beverage operations have transitioned into the Clubhouse, our new Point-of-Sale system is operational throughout the property, and our soft openings have given us valuable opportunities to learn, adjust, and fine-tune the member experience. We have also welcomed several talented new team members, while Chef Robert Wysong and his culinary team continue
developing new menus, daily specials, and memorable dining experiences. All of this leads us to one of the most anticipated moments in Wexford’s history: the Official Grand Opening of the Clubhouse on Saturday, September 26. This celebration represents the culmination of years of planning, perseverance, collaboration, and investment in the future of Wexford. Every department is working together to create an evening worthy of this milestone, and we cannot wait to celebrate with you. The Grand Opening is only the beginning. This fall, members can look forward to an expanding calendar of wine tastings, wine dinners, chef’s table experiences, signature events, and new opportunities to gather with family, friends, and neighbors. When I joined Wexford earlier this year, I shared my hope that together we could create something truly special. After seeing the passion of our members, the dedication of our team, and the momentum throughout the community, I am more excited than ever about what lies ahead. Thank you for your continued support, enthusiasm, and the privilege of serving you. We look forward to welcoming you into the Clubhouse and creating many wonderful memories together.

Some Friendly Reminders on Renovations The ASC is beginning to see more renovation and landscape requests from members. Please refer to the Wexford website to find important information regarding ASC requirements. The website also contains copies of the appropriate applications that should be completed prior to submission.
It is the homeowner’s obligation to maintain their property according to the Covenants, Article V, Section 5.01. Some things to pay attention to are debris on your roof, dirty and/or cracked driveways, mildew on your house and/or roof, overgrown landscaping. All properties are checked on a regular basis to ensure that Wexford
continues to be a beautiful place to live! No homeowner or outside vendors are permitted to dump landscaping debris or household trash on any vacant lot at any time. Violators will be subject to compliance fines. As you know, interior renovations do not need approval from the ASC. However, if your project requires a port-alet and/or dumpster, you need to submit an application and escrow deposits prior to delivery of the dumpster.

Helpful Safety Reminders for the Season With the arrival of summer, various concerns and problems of the season increased our security calls for service. Remembering safety, Members need to adhere to the speed limits within our community, as there is much activity of golf carts, bikers, walkers, runners and children at play in or near the roadways. As a reminder, a person must be 16 years of age, with a valid driver’s license in their possession to operate a golf cart in Wexford. Golf carts MAY NOT be driven on leisure paths, as the paths are for walkers, runners and children under 16 years of age to ride their bicycles. Over the past several months, security has received several pet complaints. Remember, under Covenant 10.18, “No pet shall be allowed to make an unreasonable amount of noise or to
become a nuisance. No structure for the care, housing, or confinement of any pet shall be constructed or maintained on any part of the Common Areas. Pets shall be under leash at all times when walked or exercised in any portion of the Common Areas, and no pet shall be permitted to leave its excrement on any portion of the Common Areas, and the Owner of such pet shall immediately remove the same.” With the increased use of electric bicycles and scooters here in Wexford, members have voiced concerns and made reports of these devices being operated in a careless manner along our roadways and within the common areas of Wexford. If you or your children are operating them here in Wexford, please use caution, especially within our parking lots, as safety should be always exercised.
Electric Bicycles and scooters are not allowed to ride along the leisure paths, as this is restricted to pedestrians. On another safety note, helmets are not required but always recommended when operating on our roadways on bikes or scooters. Again, with more member events, and the increased utilization of the tennis and pickleball courts, we still have limited parking in and around our facilities, so it is requested that our members consider utilizing their golf carts whenever possible. Parking of your golf carts is allowed in any grassy area around the facilities, so please do not park in a vehicle parking space. Have a safe and wonderful Summer and Fall!

The Mental Game: Control What You Can Golf has a funny way of humbling us the moment we start thinking ahead. If you’ve ever stood on the 15th tee calculating what you’ll shoot if you par in, you probably know what happened next. Double. One of the greatest lessons in golf is simple: control what you can control. You control your attitude, your preparation, your routine, and your commitment to each shot. You don’t control the wind, a bad bounce, or that putt that looked dead center until it remembered it had somewhere else to be. And you certainly can’t change the shot you hit 30 seconds ago — although many of us spend the next two holes trying. Don’t spend the round worrying about your score, either. The scorecard does a perfectly good job of keeping score without your help. Your only job is to hit the best shot you can right now. Here’s another secret: you’re not supposed to think about golf for four straight hours. Between shots, enjoy the walk, visit with your group, admire
the course, and politely laugh at the same stories you’ve heard from your regular foursome for the past five years. Let your mind relax. Then, when it’s your turn, flip the switch. Pick your target, commit to the shot, and execute. Once the ball is gone, turn the switch off again.
The best golfers aren’t focused for four hours — they’re focused for a few seconds at a time. Control what you can control, stay in the present, and remember: golf is a lot more fun when you’re playing the next shot instead of negotiating with the last one.

Simple Adjustment Can Help on Bermuda improving both contact and spin on greenside shots. The key is to make your normal chipping motion while letting the club glide through the turf rather than digging into it. With cleaner contact comes better distance control, more predictable spin, and greater confidence around the greens. The next time you find yourself on a tight Bermuda lie, give this setup adjustment a try. A small change at address can lead to big improvements in your short game.

Bermuda grass can be one of the most challenging surfaces to chip from because its tight, grainy lies can cause the club to snag or dig into the turf. One simple adjustment that can make a big difference is raising the heel of your wedge slightly at address. By standing the club a little more upright, the heel sits off the ground, reducing turf interaction and allowing the leading edge to move through the grass more cleanly. This helps produce a more consistent strike,

Fall League Play Team Tennis — Beginning in mid-September, Wexford teams will compete against area clubs on Saturdays at the 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, 7.5, and 8.0 levels. Ladies Interclub — Thursday afternoons this fall, Wexford will compete against neighboring clubs at the 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 levels. USTA League Tennis — USTA Fall League play features men’s and women’s competition in the 50+, 60+, and 70+ divisions at the 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 levels. Pickleball League Play — Three Wexford pickleball teams will represent the Club this fall in weekend league competition against neighboring clubs.

Win More Doubles Points with Shot Selection
Success in doubles often comes down to shot selection, not power. • Opponent at the baseline? Aim 5 to 8 feet above the net. You’ll hit deeper, reduce unforced errors, and keep your opponents on defense. • Opponent at mid-court? Keep the ball low, clearing the net by just 1 to 2 feet. A low shot at their feet makes it
difficult to attack and often sets up your partner for the winning volley. • Opponent at the net? Lift a high, controlled lob over their head to force them to retreat and switch into a defensive position. Practice these three scenarios, and you’ll immediately become a stronger doubles player.

Consistency beats power. One of the most common mistakes in pickleball is trying to hit a winner too soon. Instead, focus on keeping the ball in play, constructing the point, and waiting for the right opportunity to attack. High-percentage shots lead to fewer errors, and ultimately, more victories.

Wexford Hurricane Preparedness Checklist Living on Hilton Head Island means enjoying the extraordinary beauty of the Lowcountry as well as understanding the importance of being prepared during hurricane season. The best time to prepare is long before a storm is on the horizon. Take a few minutes this fall to review your family’s plan, replenish supplies, and make sure your home, pets, and property are ready.
Before the Storm

Don’t Forget Your Pets Pack food, water, medications, identification, veterinary information, leashes, and carriers or crates. Know in advance where you’ll take your pets if an evacuation is necessary.
For Our Boating Members Wexford’s inland Harbour provides
an extraordinary boating lifestyle, but severe weather requires advance planning. Don’t wait until a storm is approaching to prepare your vessel. Review current Wexford Yacht Club Policy and Severe Weather section V. Inspect dock lines, fenders, cleats, and other equipment. Remove or properly secure loose items aboard your vessel. Secure sails, canvas, cushions, electronics, and other equipment as appropriate. Make sure the Harbour Master’s office has your current contact information. Know your responsibilities as a boat owner before a storm threatens. Follow all Harbour Master instructions regarding vessels, docks, the Harbour, and lock operations.
Prepare Early. Stay Informed. Conditions and procedures can change quickly when severe weather threatens. Always look to official Wexford communications for specific information regarding property access, Harbour operations, facilities, closures, and other important updates.

Know your evacuation zone and route. Make sure everyone in your household knows where you’ll go and how you’ll get there. Update the Wexford Security team. Secure outdoor belongings. Bring in or secure furniture, umbrellas, planters, grills, décor, and anything else that could become airborne. Prepare your home. Check shutters or other window protection, clear gutters and drains, and address damaged branches or landscape hazards well in advance. Document your property. Take current photos or video of your home’s interior, exterior, and valuable belongings for insurance purposes. Review your insurance. Keep homeowners, flood, wind, auto, and boat insurance information somewhere secure and accessible. Check your generator. Make sure it is in working order and that you understand how to operate it safely. Power up. Charge phones, portable batteries, flashlights, golf carts, and other essential devices before conditions deteriorate. Stay informed. Follow official Wexford, Town of Hilton Head Island, Beaufort County, and South Carolina emergency communications.

Learning to Sail, Learning Lessons for Life There are few places better suited for learning to sail than Wexford. For our youngest members, time on the water is about much more than learning how to handle a boat. Sailing builds confidence, independence, and resourcefulness. It teaches children to read their surroundings, make decisions, adapt when conditions change, and trust their own abilities. There’s an old saying among sailors: “You can’t control the wind, but you can adjust your sails.” It’s a lesson that applies well beyond the water. This fall, experienced sailing instructor Jim Stubbs will introduce Wexford’s young sailors to the
fundamentals in a safe, supportive, and controlled environment. Through hands-on instruction, participants will begin developing the skills and confidence they need to take on bigger boats and new adventures in the years ahead. And perhaps most importantly, they’ll have the opportunity to get outside, spend time on the water, learn something new, and experience one of the things that makes growing up at Wexford so special.

Historic Burgee Exchange Wexford Yacht Club is proud to celebrate a special milestone in the Club’s history with the completion of a reciprocal burgee exchange between Wexford Yacht Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Waikiki Yacht Club in Honolulu, Hawaii. The exchange began earlier this year when Joy Mossholder Sporn — member of the Wexford Yacht Club Committee — visited Honolulu and had the honor of presenting a Wexford Yacht Club burgee to the Waikiki Yacht Club, extending Wexford’s friendship and goodwill across the Pacific. That exchange came full circle during a recent visit to Wexford when Command Master Chief Daniel Nesbitt, a distinguished U.S. Navy SEAL stationed

WHAT IS A BURGEE?
If you’ve spent time around the Wexford Harbour, you’ve likely noticed the distinctive triangular flag flying proudly from many boats. That flag is called a burgee, and it is one of the oldest traditions in yachting. A burgee is the official flag of a yacht club, serving as the vessel’s “calling card” and identifying the club to which its owner belongs. Dating back to the 19th century, each yacht club’s burgee features a unique design and is recognized as a symbol of membership, camaraderie, and nautical tradition. One of the most meaningful customs among yacht clubs is the burgee exchange. When members visit another yacht club, it is customary to exchange burgees as a gesture of friendship and goodwill. These exchanges often mark the beginning of lasting relationships between clubs and become cherished keepsakes displayed in clubhouses around the world. At Wexford Yacht Club, exchanged burgees tell the story of our members’ travels and the friendships forged on the water. Each one represents a shared passion for boating and reminds us that, while harbors may be separated by hundreds — or even thousands — of miles, the traditions of the yachting community connect us all.

in Honolulu and representing Waikiki Yacht Club, presented a Waikiki Yacht Club burgee to Wexford Commodore Richard Anderson. Together, these presentations completed an official reciprocal burgee exchange between the two clubs. The exchange of yacht club burgees is one of the oldest and most cherished traditions in the maritime community. More than the presentation of two club flags, it symbolizes friendship, mutual respect, and the establishment of lasting relationships between yacht clubs around the world. Following an exchange, each club proudly displays the visiting club’s burgee as a reminder of the hospitality shared and the bonds formed between fellow mariners. These exchanges also help strengthen reciprocal relationships that allow members to enjoy the fellowship and facilities of participating yacht clubs while traveling. This memorable occasion not only celebrates the new friendship between Wexford Yacht Club and Waikiki Yacht Club, but also reflects Wexford’s commitment to preserving the rich traditions of yachting while expanding its connections with boating communities around the world. It is our hope that this exchange will be the first of many as Wexford members continue to cruise, explore new destinations, and proudly represent our Club wherever their voyages may lead. As you travel and visit other yacht clubs, we encourage you to help continue this proud tradition. If you anticipate visiting another yacht club, please contact the Harbour Master, Mark Dryden, to obtain a Wexford burgee for an official exchange. We also invite you to capture the moment with photographs and share them with the Committee so we can recognize your exchange in future newsletters and celebrate the growing friendships and goodwill that Wexford Yacht Club is fostering throughout the boating community. We will also ask to officially catalog the burgee you receive as a show of shared friendship.

A Summer to Remember Camp Wexford brought our youngest members together for days filled with sunshine, laughter, new friendships, and plenty of adventure. From morning drop-off to the final high-fives of the afternoon, there was always something new to try and a lot of fun along the way. Campers took to the courts for tennis instruction with Director of Tennis Patrick Mason, practiced their swings with Assistant Golf Professional Derek Hobart, and discovered the art of fencing with Cosette Wagner and Wexford’s own Cade Tokarski. Young engineers put their imaginations to work building oneof-a-kind creations, budding chemists made slime, and plenty of patriotic spirit had campers chanting “U-S-A!” during Fourth of July week. Of course, some of the sweetest memories were the simplest ones. There were pool days and games, arts and crafts proudly carried home, pizza shared with friends, and plenty of icecold lemonade on those hot, hazy Lowcountry afternoons. Our campers even earned the distinction of being among the first to enjoy Wexford’s new Waterford Pub and Clubhouse Outdoor Bar, although their preferred refreshments were decidedly more kid-friendly! Under the enthusiastic care of Dr. Jayne Gammons and the KE Camps counselors, along with support from Wexford’s staff and instructors, our campers had the opportunity to explore, learn, laugh, and simply enjoy being kids. To our campers, counselors, instructors, families, and everyone who helped make the summer possible: thank you for the memories. We can’t wait to do it all again next summer.
