Our Valentine Place studio transformed an historic 19th-century warehouse into a light-filled, design-led workspace that reflects who we are as architects: creative, collaborative, and rooted in context. With open-plan flexibility, original architectural features and vibrant client-facing spaces, it’s both a hub for innovation and a welcoming part of the local community. The space has been refreshed from its original design in 2013 to reflect changes in working patterns and the growth of the business. In 2025 the ground floor space was refit using existing materials to create a light filled flexible collaborative working and event space.

Castlepoint Headquarters The new headquarters for urban developer Castlepoint Realty Partners Limited offers a range of work settings—from enclosed offices and open tables to a lounge and a bistro-inspired banquette reflecting the founders’ working style. With a striking seventh-floor view of the ROM ‘crystal’, the 3,200 ft² fit-out prioritizes its most public spaces. We began with mood boards to establish the design direction, evolving into concept layouts, custom millwork, and furniture selection. The space features wood and glass-enclosed offices, a kitchen with a high-counter gathering area, a lounge with a pool table, open workstations, and a conference room with switchable glass and standout views.

UBC Student Centre & Admin Offices Interior renovations across four buildings for University of British Columbia Student Housing and Community Services (SHCS) upgraded student centre and admin areas to improve functionality, comfort, and safety. The project addressed complex integration of new air conditioning within tight existing ceiling and structural constraints, while introducing targeted acoustic treatments to support speech privacy in offices and meeting rooms. Upgrades also included bringing legacy building assemblies closer to current fire and life safety expectations through strategic reinforcement of fire separations.

Located on the fourth floor of a historic building in downtown Toronto, this office renovation project provided an open, collaborative working environment as part of a broader building improvement. The renovation plan centred around increasing natural lighting, introducing a new high-efficiency mechanical system, and designing with respect for the building’s structural heritage. A collaborative planning process resulted in a plan that prioritized ergonomics and working environments, creating a space with strong visual transparency that balanced connectivity and working privacy.

Interior renovations transformed a 5,400 ft² downtown Toronto space into a vibrant arts hub. Designed to foster collaboration and creativity, the project introduced a mix of co-working areas, studios, rehearsal and recording spaces, and flexible bookable rooms to support a dynamic community of artists. The retrofit also improved accessibility with a clear path of travel, vertical platform lift, and universal washroom, while upgrading mechanical and electrical systems to meet current performance needs. Existing conditions—including repurposing spaces like a former bank vault—required careful coordination to integrate new servicing, ventilation, and acoustic separation.

Toromont Headquarters Situated in the Greater Toronto Area, a new commercial office and industrial repair and manufacturing facility is being built. Typically, operations are built for the efficiency of specific use, often segregating uses in separate buildings on a larger site. As a means to promote the facilitation of opportunities for knowledge exchange and improved wellbeing, we looked to explore a campus-style approach that builds from large urban design planning schemes to promote an interconnected yet operationally efficient campus.
