Acknowledgement of Country
West Moreton Anglican College acknowledges the Yugara people as the First Nation custodians of the lands upon which our College stands.
For thousands of years the Yugara people have gathered on this country, to share knowledge, stories, and teachings.
We pay respects to their language, lores, customs, creation stories, culture, and traditions.
We pay tribute to Elders; past, present and to be. We acknowledge that within the boundaries of this country, there have always been places of teaching, researching, and learning, a tradition which we as a College proudly continue today.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, On earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily Bread, Forgive us our sins As we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are Yours now and forever. Amen.

ACADEMIC AWARD CRITERIA
These criteria apply to the awards presented to students at the beginning of each semester for academic achievement in the previous semester. There are three levels of award:
1. Summa Cum Laude With Highest Honour
2. Magna Cum Laude With High Honour
3. Cum Laude With Honour
The award criteria have been designed to be consistent with the academic foci of the year levels to which they apply. They are also designed to be achievable and yet sufficiently discriminating to ensure that only those who demonstrate true academic excellence will attain the highest level. In considering the criteria for each year level, students, parents and teachers need to be mindful of the increasing levels of academic rigour and cognitive demand required as the years advance. Data used for calculating these awards is taken from Semester One reports.
Year 5 and 6 Academic Awards
1. Summa Cum Laude Award – With Highest Honour Presented to students who achieve a GPA of 4.85 and an ‘A’ standard for both English and Mathematics.
2. Magna Cum Laude Award - With High Honour Presented to students who achieve a GPA of 4.7 or better and an ‘A’ standard for either English or Mathematics.
3. Cum Laude Award - With Honour Presented to students who achieve GPA of 4.4 or better and an ‘A’ standard for either English or Mathematics.
Note that for the purposes of award eligibility calculation, academic subjects included in the above calculations include: English, Mathematics, Science, HASS, Music, Chinese and Technologies.
