On behalf of the school community, I welcome you to West Moreton Anglican College and invite you to discover how we can instil a love of learning in your child so that they can explore their potential.
West Moreton Anglican College, or WestMAC as it is affectionately known, is a dynamic Prep to Year 12 co-educational independent school that promotes a balanced schooling experience. Our innovative teachers challenge students to actively engage in their own learning; become critical, creative and entrepreneurial thinkers; and develop emotionally, socially and spiritually. We strive to ignite a passion for learning in our students so they can confidently uncover and embrace their full potential.
Students also have access to, and are encouraged to participate in, an extensive range of enriching learning activities both within and beyond the classroom. The unique location of the College offers many advantages. WestMAC is set on a naturally beautiful 38 hectare semi-rural campus less than 10 minutes from the Ipswich CBD.
Our campus provides students with a peaceful and safe learning environment, as well as convenient access to the amenities of this increasingly dynamic, growing regional centre. Additionally, dedicated bus services make the College easily accessible to Brisbane’s western suburbs; enrolment trends indicate that WestMAC is increasingly attractive to families in this corridor. The College campus includes three sub-schools: Junior (Prep to Year 6), Middle (Years 7 to 9), and Senior (Years 10 to 12). A community C&K Kindergarten is also located on campus.
At the heart of the College community is faith and service – both based on Anglican beliefs. Students are encouraged to value themselves and to be proud of their own and each other’s achievements.

Our Anglican Identity
An education at WestMAC is grounded in Christian values and aligned with the traditions of the Anglican Church of Australia.
In the 1990s, WestMAC was established through the vision of The Reverend Canon Gavin Ott and the desire of St Paul’s Church parishioners to provide families in the Ipswich region with a co-educational Anglican school. All families are welcome at WestMAC regardless of religious affiliations.
Faith is central to daily life, with the Chapel of the Good Shepherd serving as the heart of the College. Students attend weekly Chapel services for reflection, learning, and celebration.
Grounded in the Anglican tradition, our community is shaped by a commitment to help each person flourish with dignity. We believe every individual is created in the image of God and therefore worthy of respect, compassion and opportunity. Inspired by the example of Jesus, students are encouraged to act with kindness, pursue justice, stand alongside others and care for the world around them. In this way, faith is expressed not only in what we believe, but in how we live together as a community.
The College is supported by our Chaplain, The Reverend Jane Markotsis, who provides spiritual and pastoral leadership. Students are encouraged to uphold the Anglican ethos and participate in Religious and Values Education (RAVE); exploring Christianity’s history, values, and contemporary issues in a thoughtful, reflective manner.

Student Wellbeing
At WestMAC, we prioritise student wellbeing by fostering a supportive environment where mental, emotional, and physical health are valued.
As an Anglican school, we emphasise forgiveness, reconciliation, and loving service to God and others. We encourage students to be responsible, ethical, and socially conscious citizens. Students are supported primarily by dedicated Heads of School, with additional support available through Pastoral Care Leaders, and our Chaplaincy Team who provide spiritual guidance.
Our Wellbeing Centre offers additional confidential support from our College Counsellors, helping students to navigate challenges and build resilience. Our Middle and Senior Schools also have a dedicated Safety and Wellbeing Support Officer who creates tailored programs based on positive education research. Wellbeing is central to everything we do, empowering students to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
Health Services
Our Health Centre is staffed by registered nurses who provide health and medical assistance to students and staff at our College. Students can access the Health Centre for immediate First Aid, management of chronic health conditions, and daily dispensing of medications. Our Health Centre also coordinates student access to immunisation and dental health programs.
Defence School Mentor
Located approximately 10 kilometres from RAAF Base Amberley, WestMAC is the school of choice for over 100 Australian Defence Force families. Due to our close proximity and long-standing history with the armed services, we have a unique understanding of the challenges of military life and the sacrifices our Defence families make as they serve our nation. To provide specific support to our Defence families, particularly during transitions between schools or parent deployment, our pastoral care team includes a dedicated full-time Defence School Mentor. In addition, our staff receive specialised training to assist Defence children and families to integrate into our College and local communities.

Junior School - Prep to Year 6
The Junior School at WestMAC has built a strong reputation for caring and innovative teaching, where learning is nurtured in an environment that inspires creative and critical thinking. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their learning, demonstrating The WestMAC Way and our College values of wisdom, kindness, courage, and respect in all they do.
Our Prep program is one of the longest running in Queensland and offers a balanced approach to learning, thoughtfully weaving play-based experiences with opportunities to develop essential foundation literacy and numeracy skills.
Our committed and passionate teaching and support staff are recognised as dedicated, caring professionals. They model kindness and respect each day and create a supportive environment where students can grow academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Our programs place equal emphasis on mastering academic and physical skills while promoting student wellbeing.
We recognise literacy and numeracy as core building blocks for academic success. Critical thinking is embedded across all year levels. It enables students to distinguish between fact and opinion, ask meaningful questions, make detailed observations, uncover assumptions, and form their own informed viewpointsan expression of wisdom in action.
Students who develop strong critical-thinking skills become more inquisitive, open-minded, analytical, confident in their reasoning, and courageous in expressing new ideas.
Enrichment opportunities are available for students working above year level expectations. Students requiring additional support are guided through targeted intervention programs led by specialist staff, ensuring every learner is known, supported, and encouraged.
Junior School class teachers lead learning in English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Science (HASS), Digital Technologies/ Design and Technologies, Religious and Values Education (RAVE)/SpiritED, and Art. Specialist teachers further enrich the curriculum through Chinese, Music (including the Year 3 String Immersion Program, Year 5 Band Program and Year 6 Arts Program), and Physical Education.

Middle School - Years 7 to 9
At WestMAC, we acknowledge that the transition to adolescence represents a time of rapid and significant development. Our Middle School offers a safe and nurturing environment that enables students in Years 7 to 9 to form a positive sense of identity, image and self-worth, while fostering the growth of greater independence and self-reliance. Students are encouraged to be flexible and responsive, and to develop an aptitude for continuous improvement. We strive to instil in our students passion and enthusiasm, a need for social connectedness, a curious and inquiring mindset along with a strong sense of justice. We believe the combination of a rigorous academic program and a comprehensive pastoral care system provides the basis for excellent schooling experiences that enable the personal development of each student.
Structure for Success
To facilitate positive transitioning from Junior to Senior School, students entering the Middle School in Years 7 and 8 are placed into classes based around their core subjects (Maths, Science, English and Social Science). The composition of each class is based on a variety of factors such as social, emotional and academic ability, with emphasis placed on creating a learning environment where each student can flourish.
Year 7 students are supported in their transition to secondary education through the appointment of two core teachers for Maths, Science, English and SOSE. This consistency ensures the Middle School experience is less overwhelming. In Years 8 and 9, timetables mirror more closely a Senior School offering, with specialist teachers in each subject. Each year level cohort is guided by a Head of Year who will remain with them through their Middle School journey.
The Rite Journey
The Rite Journey program in which Year 9 students engage is an initiative designed to support the transition of young people into adulthood. It focusses on building self-awareness, identifying strengths, and providing conversations and experiences to guide this important life shift. The program is designed to empower students to become responsible, resilient and reflective individuals.
Leadership Program
Students in the Middle School participate in a highly strategic and targeted leadership program. In Year 8, students begin to develop the appropriate attributes and skills required for student leadership roles. Our Year 9 student leaders have role-specific responsibilities such as academics, faith and service, the environment and cultural awareness, as well as leadership of House groups.

More Opportunities
In the Senior School, we pride ourselves on offering a diverse range of programs that cater to our students’ varied interests and aspirations.
The Senior School is purposefully designed to support high academic achievement. Approximately three-quarters of our students aspire to pursue tertiary studies. Eight out of ten students also take the opportunity to complete VET qualifications from Certificate I to Diploma level to build practical skills and industryrecognised credentials. More than half graduate with both ATAR and VET outcomes, reflecting the flexibility of our pathways. This breadth of opportunity empowers every student to flourish and confidently pursue their chosen future.
Our Senior School is dedicated to fostering an environment where a deep commitment to student care matches its high expectations. Our community shares a set of common values, and our staff teach and encourage students to be kind, to respect themselves and others, and engage positively with the broader community.
Drawing inspiration from our Christian ethos, we provide students with a moral framework based on an Anglican identity. This framework guides their journey towards reaching their full potential, and developing character.
Our vertically aligned House system, managed by Leaders of Culture and Pastoral Care Group teachers, facilitates daily check-ins on student wellbeing. Additionally, our wellbeing program encourages positive mental health, personal development, and resilience, ensuring every student feels supported academically and personally.
Beyond the College Gates
We support students’ transition from school to adult life through a comprehensive suite of programs. Our careers counselling service offers tailored advice to help students explore pathways and make informed decisions. Academic mentoring connects students with experienced mentors who provide guidance and strategies for success, while the curriculum builds practical life skills, financial literacy, and leadership to prepare students for the complexities of adult life.

VET Pathways and Trade Skills Centre
Vocational Education and Training (VET)
Our VET programs provide students with industryspecific skills, bridging the gap between education and employment. In partnership with TAFE and other Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), we offer courses across multiple sectors, including trade, business, retail, hospitality, health and fitness, technology, art and aviation.
Pathways to Career and Further Study
Our tailored programs assist a smooth transition from school to the workforce or higher education.
• School-Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship Program
Available for students in Years 10 to 12, providing early exposure to careers in construction, mechanical trades, nursing, and more.
• Customised Timetables
Senior students (Years 11 to 12) can integrate Certificate and Diploma courses into their school schedule, enabling them to complete industry qualifications before graduation.
• University and TAFE Pathways
Graduates are well-prepared to continue their education in vocational or tertiary institutions and enter the workforce with job-ready skills.
VET Program Features
WestMAC’s flexible timetable structure enables students to undertake Certificate courses alongside their traditional studies, allowing them to broaden their learning while gaining nationally recognised qualifications. Entrepreneurial training is intentionally integrated throughout the program, equipping students with practical enterprise skills, innovative thinking, and real-world problemsolving capabilities. Outdoor Education
We are excited to offer an immersive Outdoor Education program at WestMAC. Our program is intentionally designed to grow with your child, offering increasingly enriching experiences as they progress through the years.
Our camps are more than just overnight experiences - they are adventures, and a chance to create lasting memories, build resilience, and develop skills that will equip them for success.
Junior School
In Prep, your child will kick off their outdoor adventure with a fun-filled ‘Day Camp’ on campus, where they will be introduced to the world of outdoor education.
In Year 1, students will enjoy a ‘Late Night’ experience on campus, getting a taste of the excitement that comes with camp life. In Year 2, it will be time for their first overnight stay at WestMAC, with students embarking on off campus programs from Year 4.
Middle School
Our Middle School camps offer students unforgettable learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom. We understand that these years are pivotal for building lifelong friendships, and our camps are thoughtfully designed to foster connection and support among students at each year level.
In Years 7 to 8 students strengthen bonds and explore new challenges together, focusing on personal growth and leadership skills.
The Year 9 Outdoor Education program incorporates The Rite Journey Solo experience. This program is designed to foster personal growth, resilience, and self discovery through adventure-based and reflective activities from The Rite Journey program.
Senior School
Students in Senior School attend camps on and off campus; programs designed to challenge and inspire students.
The Year 10 program presents an authentic and immersive experience focused on the development of resilience through tests of character, leadership and teamwork. The program takes a thematic approach to building life skills and personal growth through participation in adventurous activities based on historical military campaigns.
In Year 11, students engage in an immersive leadership and team-building experience grounded in the core values of wisdom, kindness, courage and respect.

At WestMAC, every student has the chance to take part in a diverse range of sporting activities, encouraging both enjoyment and excellence.
Eaglets Sports Program
WestMAC’s Eaglets Sports Program begins in Prep, where students are introduced to basic skills in a range of sports, including netball, basketball, hockey, cricket and touch football. As they progress through to Year 2, they also participate in cross country and athletics carnivals, helping them develop a well-rounded foundation in physical education.
Junior TAS and TAS Sports
WestMAC is proud to be part of The Associated Schools (TAS) competition, one of Queensland’s premier co-educational interschool sporting competitions. Students in JTAS and TAS play an eight or nine week home-and-away format on Saturday mornings, competing against six other TAS schools in the Brisbane region. Athlete Development Program
Athlete Development Program (ADP) is run in conjunction with College curriculum offerings and provides student athletes with opportunities for the development of skill building and strength training as well as a greater understanding of their biometrics and how to prepare for a successful performance.
Carnivals
Students proudly represent their House in our vibrant Junior, Middle and Senior School Interhouse sporting carnivals, fostering school spirit, connection and healthy competition. Carnivals in Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming provide opportunities for participation while also acting as a starting point for students to progress to JTAS and TAS carnivals.
Representative Pathway
The WestMAC Sport program supports students to pursue representative sporting opportunities through Queensland Representative School Sport. Featuring a range of team and carnival sports, students may trial and be selected to progress through zone, district and regional levels, with the potential to achieve selection in Queensland state teams.

Students can unleash their potential through a diverse range of performing arts and music programs at WestMAC, intentionally designed to ignite passion and inspire personal growth.
Dance
WestMAC offers three exciting dance cohorts for students to audition for: Junior School Dance Crew, Dance Troupe, and Dance Company.
The dance program runs year-round, led by expert coaches and choreographers who guide students in developing their dance skills, fostering teamwork, and dedicating themselves to perfecting choreographed routines. Students have the opportunity to perform at key College events, including the annual dance concert. In addition, students in dance cohorts showcase their talents at local eisteddfods and festivals throughout South East Queensland.

College Musicals
Every second year, WestMAC stages a musical where students have the chance to shine in a variety of roles. Whether performing on stage, contributing to stage design and set development, or playing an instrument, there are countless ways for students to be involved.
The Junior School also has its own annual production, giving all Junior students the opportunity to dance, sing, and perform, offering students a hands-on introduction to the world of performing arts. The annual production is either a major concert or musical. This is a fantastic chance for students to experience the excitement of performing and explore their creative talents.
Student Experiences - Clubs and Activities
Our Clubs and Activities program provides diverse opportunities for students to discover new interests, develop skills, and pursue their passions. Those who thrive in a collaborative environment can enhance their teamwork, leadership, and personal growth.
Our youngest learners are encouraged to explore their cultural and pastoral interests through a range of engaging opportunities. As students progress through the school, they gain access to a diverse co-curricular program designed to enrich learning, build leadership, and nurture individual talents. Many clubs and activities bring together students from different year levels, creating opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and a strong sense of community. Through these experiences, every student is supported to challenge themselves, develop new skills, and form lasting connections beyond the classroom.

Agricultural (Cattle and Sheep) Show Teams
Gain hands-on experience in livestock handling and show preparation while representing the College at local agricultural shows.
Debating, Public Speaking and Mooting
Develop public speaking, research, and analytical skills under the guidance of experienced staff and student mentors. Build confidence in articulating ideas while developing communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
Environmental Committee
Explore environmental issues affecting WestMAC and the wider community. Develop awareness and leadership while contributing to student-led initiatives that promote sustainability and enhance our College environment.
Equestrian Team
Compete in Interschool Queensland (IQ) events across Dressage, Jumping, Eventing, Show Horse, Combined Training, and Showman.
Esports
Compete in the QUT High Schools Esports League and TAS Esports while developing teamwork, sportsmanship, and digital literacy with a focus on eSafety.
Friends of the Farm
Participate in farm life by planting vegetable patches, caring for gardens, and feeding animals such as chickens, sheep, and cattle.
Photography Club
Extending from the art curriculum, students further explore the medium of photography and test their skill in local and regional competitions and at College events.
Production Crew
Students learn about the art of theatrical lighting design and the use of production audio systems.
STEM Club
This club provides opportunities for students to pursue passions in robotics, coding design and construction, and test their skills in local and regional competitions, like First Lego League.
225 Squadron Australian Air Force Cadets
Students experience gliding and powered flight, work towards a recreational flying license, develop navigation and field craft skills, attend adventure training camps, and participate in ANZAC ceremonies.
Students also have the opportunity to participate in a number of activities facilitated by external providers through dedicated partnerships with the College, including private tennis coaching, Western Aquatics Swimming Club, Chess Mates and more.
International Program
WestMAC offers a supportive environment for international students, combining high-quality education with personalised care. Experienced, culturally aware teachers design individualised learning plans, including a flexible ESL component to support English language development.
Our team provides assistance with subject selection, career guidance, and university entrance, alongside regular visits to leading universities in South East Queensland such as UQ, QUT, Griffith, USQ, ACU, and Bond University.
Our managed homestay program ensures safe, quality accommodation with carefully screened providers.
WestMAC offers short-term study abroad and study tour programs that immerse students in Australian culture and improve their English. Visiting students from countries like China, Japan, Korea, Germany, and France participate in mainstream classes, cultural experiences, and excursions to iconic landmarks such as Australia Zoo and Movie World.
Programs range from one to ten weeks, with extended options up to one year, offering flexibility and the same dedicated support as full-time students. Study tours foster cultural exchange, enabling students to interact with Australian peers and explore local traditions and landmarks.

Transportation Options
Dedicated Bus Network
WestMAC provides a dedicated bus service that reaches over 60 suburbs across the Ipswich, Lockyer, and Brisbane regions. Bus transport to WestMAC is available for students who are ready for independent travel. This cost-effective service ensures students have a reliable and convenient way to commute to school each day.
Late Bus Service
To support students involved in after-school programs, WestMAC offers a late bus service that departs the campus at 5pm Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings. This service ensures that transportation is never a barrier to participating in extracurricular activities.

Lostroh Centre (Multipurpose Hall)
One of the largest venues in the Ipswich region, the Lostroh Centre seats 2,100 people and hosts sports, performances, and major events.

Trade Skills Centre
WestMAC’s state-of-the-art Trade Skills Centre provides students with hands-on learning in construction, manufacturing, and engineering through nationally recognised Certificate courses. Designed to meet industry standards, the centre is equipped with cutting-edge technology, enabling students to gain practical skills in a professional environment.

Chapel and Lake Bachmann
At the heart of WestMAC is the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, an amphitheatre, and the scenic Lake Bachmann that supports a diverse bird habitat, offering a peaceful space for reflection.
Working Farm
The College’s working farm features sheep and cattle yards, a chicken coop, an orchard, vegetable gardens, and pastures, giving students hands-on agricultural experiences.
Student Hub
At the time of publication, the College’s new Student Hub is nearing completion and will soon open for use. With modern classrooms, stateof-the-art library facilities, and flexible breakout spaces, it will create a dynamic environment for study, collaboration, and university-style learning. The Student Hub will also provide easy access to student services including our Wellbeing Centre and Health Centre.
Enrolments
Enrolment Application
Complete the online application and submit a non-refundable $250 enrolment application fee per student. This fee covers the administration and processing of your child’s application.
An Enrolment Confirmation Fee of $750 is payable to secure your child’s place at the College once an offer of enrolment has been made. This nonrefundable fee includes a $350 credit applied to your child’s first term fees, with the remaining $400 directed to the College Building Fund to support future facilities and growth.
Documents required for each child’s enrolment application:
• Birth Certificate
• Health information form
• Immunisation records
• Latest school reports (Years 1 to 12)
• NAPLAN results (Years 3 to 12)
• Specialist reports (if applicable)
Assessment and Review
Students entering Years 3 to 12 must complete on-campus online Edutest academic testing before attending an interview with the Head of School. Students enrolling in Prep and Year 1 will participate in a readiness interview. These assessments, along with school reports and any specialist evaluations, help staff to understand each child’s learning needs.
Interview and Offer
Once Edutesting has been completed, the sub-school will arrange an interview with the Head of School. This interview is a key step in the process. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Head of School will review the enrolment application. Parents and students must acknowledge they have read and accepted the Code of Behaviour and the Parent College Contract during the interview. Once the Head of School has completed their review, a formal letter of offer will be provided.
Orientation
Students starting at the beginning of the school year will be invited to attend an orientation event, New Students’ Day, held in November before their entry year.
