Unlike many other prestigious British brands we are dedicated to producing our leather goods in-house, and by hand, with the knowledge that we will always meet the company’s long heritage of finesse, finish and flair.

English craftsmanship is without parallel and here at Westley Richards we are devoted to leading the charge for its grandeur and excellence.

The Sutherland Collection

The Sutherland Bag is as hardy as the legend whose name it bears - James Sutherland (1872-1932). Conceived as the ultimate safari bag, it is easily foldable for stowage whilst its robust saddlery construction means it can more than stand up to the harshest treatment and the toughest conditions. The Sutherland Bag perfectly embodies all the qualities associated with Westley Richards’ handcrafted goods. Classic design, craftsmanship of the highest level and the finest materials, wonderfully combine to create a bag that is destined to play a part in generations of adventures.

Like all our travel bags it features a beautiful lining, exclusively designed by master gun engraver Paul Lantuch, and a deluxe leather strap, making light work of even the heaviest bag. The Sutherland is available in three sizes and a range of vegetable-tanned leather, buffalo hide and strong canvas combinations.

The Bournbrook Collection

It is with great excitement that we launch our new town and country collection, under the moniker, Bournbrook. The name holds a very special place in the history of Westley Richards and its gunmaking. Following the success of our Anson & Deeley Boxlock action, still referenced in shotguns today, Westley Richards moved to Bournbrook, Birmingham in 1894.

The Bournbrook Collection is greatly inspired by both the checkering our master gunsmiths carefully handcraft onto our gun stocking, and the keeps seen on our traditional gun cases. An ode to the master engraver Paul Lantuch is on display with our exclusive lining design. Available in a range of vegetable-tanned leather, buffalo hide and strong canvas combinations.

The Annual Special Edition

Autumn 2023 sees the launch of the first Annual Special Edition. Each edition will be strictly time limited and will not be repeated. In time, each year’s special will become a treasured classic. Over the next 12 months, our travel bag range will be available in an exclusive Italian walnut suede.

The 2023/24 suede is made in Florence, Italy, using a chrome and metal-free tanning process and finished with a colourfast treatment, that seals the colour in and helps reduce colour-bleed. The suede has a particularly velvety pile with a highly compact texture, and a colour depth not commonly encountered, that effortlessly exudes quality, luxury and style. Handcrafted in England.

The Aston Collection

The very latest addition to the Westley Richards leather range is the Aston Collection. Inspired by the elegant and shapely lines evident in our legendary gunmaking, and influenced by the company's long tradition of safari, sees the launch of our new small accessory and travel collection.

Named after the area that the Westley Richards factory resides near, Aston borders our home in the Gun Quarter. Known as the centre of world gunmaking in the 18th & 19th century, Westley Richards are proud to be the last remaining large gunmaker in England's original Gun Quarter.

Made using heritage English leathermaking techniques and crafted from dual leathers, both calf and buffalo hides, each member of the Aston Collection has details and features to ensure you travel in the finest style. The collection is still growing and will soon include a zipped travel wallet, money clip wallet, grand wallet and tablet sleeve. Handcrafted in England.
