Renaissance Legacy Circle: A Gift that Empowers

1

From the Principal For many years, Wenona has played a role in developing thousands of young women who embody Courage, Strength, Grace, Wisdom and Kindness. Our journey from 1886 forward, is only possible because of the foundation laid by our generous community. Since the School’s founding, many have chosen to include Wenona in their Wills. Through these gifts we continue opening doors for young women to discover their capabilities and pursue their aspirations. Every gift, regardless of size, makes a lasting impact and has the power to shape and sustain the Wenona of tomorrow. Even a gift of one percent of your estate can make a transformational change. Thank you for considering how a gift in your Will might contribute to Wenona’s next chapter, as we continue educating and empowering young women to serve and shape their world. Principal, Ms Linda Douglas

Why leave a Bequest? Leaving a gift in your Will is a generous way to ensure the values which are important to you continue to live on. We welcome the opportunity to start a conversation, hear about your vision for the future, and shape a meaningful gift that can meet your goals. There are many ways your gift can help.

Supporting a Scholarship

Contributing to Buildings and Facilities

One of the ways we embody our ethos of inclusion, diversity and service is to offer scholarships to promising students in a wide range of areas. This includes a means-tested scholarship for capable young women whose circumstances would not otherwise provide access to a Wenona education.

Bequests directed towards the development of Wenona’s buildings and facilities create inspiring spaces for learning, creativity, sport and community. From classrooms and libraries to sporting grounds and performance areas, each facility serves students today and for decades to come.

Your scholarship support addresses financial needs while demonstrating belief in a student’s potential. These scholarships can change the trajectory of a young woman’s life, opening doors that might otherwise remain closed.

The development of our campus requires philanthropic support from the Wenona community. Each space built through bequest gifts stands as a legacy, enabling young women to explore, create and excel in environments designed for their success.

Your Legacy Bequests to buildings and facilities create more than structures. They create opportunities and strengthen the Wenona community for current and future students.

“Wenona has given so much to generations of young women. By leaving a bequest, I know I am helping future students to experience the same opportunities, friendships and education that shaped my own life. It is a lasting way to give back to a community that has always felt like home.” Elizabeth, Bequestor

Suggested wording for your Will Your Will is an important document that must be properly prepared and executed. We recommend that you seek independent professional counsel from a solicitor to make sure your Will is legal, valid and reflects your intentions. If you are kind enough to include Wenona in your Will, please ensure your Will contains the correct wording, as suggested below.

I give to Wenona School (ABN 83 000 006 427) of 176 Walker Street, North Sydney, NSW, [description of gift], to be applied for the general purposes of the School or as directed by the Principal. I declare that the receipt of the Principal or other authorised officer shall be sufficient discharge to my Executors.

The Wenona Renaissance Legacy Circle Those who include a gift in their Will to Wenona receive an invitation to join the Wenona Renaissance Legacy Circle as a Wenona Custodian. This enables you to connect with a diverse group of passionate, like-minded Custodians, receiving exclusive invitations to events and lunches, celebrating and advancing the founders’ vision and the School’s mission. Please let us know if you have included us in your Will so that we can discuss any specific wishes and importantly, thank you for your gift.
