Information on Joining in Other Languages Welcome to Wellington City Libraries: Everyone is welcome at Wellington City Libraries! We have 14 library branches in Wellington, find your nearest branch. Each library has free computers and Wi-Fi, as well as free events for babies, children, and adults, including free Learning English groups.
Joining Wellington City Libraries: It’s free to join Wellington City Libraries. Please bring identification such as your passport, driver’s license or student ID to a library and our librarians will help you sign up. The library has books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, and other items such as eBooks you can borrow. Books are free to borrow. When they are returned before the due date, there is no cost. Magazines, CDs, and DVDs have costs to borrow. There is also a cost for items that are returned late, damaged or lost. Unpaid debts go to a debt collection agency. Interpreting Service: Wellington City Libraries has an interpretation service, with translators available for over 60 languages. If you would like an interpreter while you are using the library, please tell a librarian and they will set up a conversation with an interpreter over the phone.
