Introducing SmartCare by John Ross

Be together, even when you’re apart.

It’s just like being there. If you care for an elderly or vulnerable person, you know that one day they will probably have to move out of their home into an assisted living location or care home. But this can be a very difficult decision because the person you care for may not want to leave their home, or the costs of a care home may be unaffordable. Now, there is another way - SmartCare by John Ross. We use smart home technology to connect you with your loved one no matter how far apart you are in the real world. You can see each other, chat to each other, receive alerts if something’s not right and even control home functions such as heating remotely. And it costs just a fraction of Care Home fees. Welcome to SmartCare by John Ross.

How does SmartCare work? Every SmartCare installation is different - we always design to your family’s specific needs. Whatever your situation, we’ve got the technology solution to help make lives better.

SmartCare uses the latest smart home technology from Control4, one of the world’s leading innovators in home automation. After your consultation, we will design an installation based on your needs - it can be completely unintrusive for those who live life more independently, all the way through to

comprehensive automation for those who need more support to live on their own. Our wifi-enabled tech means that you can access it wherever you are - at home. on the way home from work or even round the other side of the world.

FACE-TO-FACE TIME We can install video screens wherever you need them, in any room of the home - so the kids can chat to Gran while they eat dinner, and you can check in on Dad if he becomes confused and needs to see your face. And you can do this from anywhere in the world, accessing from your phone or tablet. AUTOMATED HOME CONTROL SmartCare is much more than video chat. Our smart home technology can control the whole home, from wherever you are. This means that you can turn on the heating on a chilly morning, help the person you care for to play their favourite music track, draw the blinds at night and even turn off the TV when they go to bed! CHOOSE YOUR ALERTS & NOTIFICATIONS If anything unexpected happens, you’ll be the first to know. Depending on your specific needs, we can set up automatic alerts to inform you about what’s going on - whether that be signaling that the person you care for has left the home, if they are still in bed, or even flagging that they have left the hob on. ONGOING SUPPORT Our team is with you for the long run - we don’t just install then disappear. We’re on hand to handle any queries, update system software and send you regular reports so that you don’t have to worry about whether the SmartCare home is working or not (it will be, but we like to reassure you).

was produced to address and solve all of the family’s concerns. All those in authority agreed that the proposal was impressive and that, yes, Mary could go home… Mary was overjoyed. There was an immediate change for the better in her behaviour and demeanour – she was smiling again! She’d got her mojo back! She was “home!” Two and a half years on, Mary is still at home and thriving. The family support and care for her from their own homes. Yes, of course they still have to ensure there are visits to supplement the remote care. And yes, there is a separate care package in place with professional staff popping in three times each day to dispense medication. But there is absolutely no doubt about it – without the technology that’s in place and the active, ‘hands-on’ care and support it enables, Mary would be back in residential care. Mary and her family are determined to ensure that day remains in the future for as long as practically possible – and thanks to SmartCare, it’s not something they worry about.

Meet Dave. If you’d like to find out more about how SmartCare can help you and your family, the next step is arrange a meeting with Dave. Dave’s not a salesman - he and his wife Lynda have been in a position like yours, and they worked closely with John Ross to help design SmartCare based on their own experiences. So when you meet Dave, he will understand and empathise with you - his focus is to determine if and how SmartCare can improve your situation. It goes without saying that there are ‘no obligations’ in the meeting, and Dave will never ask anyone to sign up for anything in this consultation, although he is partial to a cup of tea and a biscuit. You can reach Dave on 07824 723011 to arrange a meeting.
