Who/what is your work influenced by If this question was asked a week back I would have a different answer, but right now my work is heavily inspired by “Film” - old indian photographs shot on film. The photograph should have a feel and thats it. I’m trying to make my work look very human if that makes sense. Very believable and very organic. As much as I love my modern photography gadgets I like mixing old techniques and processes with the digital format.

Every day on instagram I stumble upon someone’s profile and I’m just blown away! But as cliche as may it sound I want my pictures to look like paintings and thats because I want them to have that characteristic of being timeless and a piece of art and not just a digital image. I really Like photographers from Lahore these days. Inspirations this year has been cities rather then people to be honest. I love how Lahore and Mumbai have this amazing aura which you can capture in photographs. Every-time I visit these two cities I feel so inspired and creatively satisfied.
as wedding photography is amazing; you get everything from glamour to emotions to decor. It’s just amazing how much you can do with being a wedding photographer. When im hired to do fashion images again I have to be true to my style and I make sure the pictures look believable and connect with the audience. How would you describe your pieces? I would want them to be timeless. I think I am very old school and I would want people to use words like nostalgic, or be reminded of a painting when they see and describe my photographs.

What kind of photography do you most identify with, and why? Lifestyle which would include Portraits, Detail Shots, Nature Shots, Architecture. Basically everything which I find interesting. But I love, love shooting portraits. Humans are the best subject for a photographer. Its very inspiring and you feel honoured when you take a portrait of someone. I mean even if im shooting something in terms of Architecture I make sure that there’s a human element to it so everyone can connect to it. I love shooting flowers and always try making them look like floral paintings done with watercolours. I absolutely feel honoured when someone books me for their wedding

Is there anyone in particular you would like to photograph? Who would it be, and why? So many people. I wish I could photograph The Mughals if that makes any sense, but simultaneously I would love to photograph my Nanima as she was the most beautiful person inside out. In recent times I would want to photograph all the different communities in the Himalayas from Pakistan,India,Bhutan and the whole region.
What is your ultimate goal/dream as a photographer? Just always being happy and stay super pumped about the next shot. Photography has given me some amazing friends, opportunities to travel and taken the place almost of a best friend who has got your back. So my goal is to always feel this grateful for what I do, enjoy the process and subsequently I belive commercial success is inevitable if one is passionate and dedicated.

What are the Top 5 Makeup Brands that you recommend women to use in this Summer Heat, and why? a- Primer: Laura mericer, The balm : Reason: A good primer is a necessity in this hot weather. this will set you makeup stay for longer. b- Foundation: Max, Armani - silk foundation: Reason: A good foundation makes a strong base. when your base is strong, then whatever you build over it will stay for long c- Compact/Loose Powder: Lauramercier transulant powder. Reason: in this sweaty heat tendency of oil excretion increases. So set the foundation with powder. This will make your skin relatively dry and will control the oil automatically. d- Powder Blush/Contour: Urban decay, Anastasia Beverly HIlls. Reason: Avoid using cream blush and contour as cream excretes oil after some time e- Fixing Spray: Urban decay 24/7. Reason: This fixer really locks the makeup for a very long time.

How important is the base (Foundation) for Pakistani Weddings, & do you think we give more importance to caking a bride rather than keeping her simple & original? I do not feel that a bride should look as simple as she has been looking all her life . Obviously a formal event calls for a formal look meaning formal dressing & makeup; but yes one should not get changed drastically. People should be able to recognize that person :) 6. Suggest a daily makeup routine, which is easy to follow & applies minimal makeup. I think Nabeela’s zero makeup pallet is best for daily use and at the same time very easy to use.
8. Do you have any advice for Brides to Be? A good care of your skin is necessary for all the brides to be. - Do take facials according to your skin type every month - Do cleansing before sleeping whether you have wore makeup or not - Eat healthy so you look healthy - Sleep like a baby :)
