Cook County Commissioner Tara Stamps led a walk-out and moment of silence for Christian Wallace, the man re-
cently killed in an officer-involved shooting, at Oak Park’s village board meeting on July 14. Stamps called for “radical solidarity” from community members and village government. Vicki Scaman, Oak Park village
president, and other trustees briefly adjourned the meeting and took part in the moment of silence held in the village hall courtyard.

Oak Park and River Forest High School will boost its academic support staff by two positions in time for an August school opening after the OPRF school board voted unanimously July 16 to approve the creation of two more teaching positions, a reading interventionist and a math interventionist. The positions were recommended by the OPRF administration in response to pressure from equity advocates, some school board members, and after a report prepared by two members of the OPRF Community
