After 25 years, Keystone wins tax exemption, River Forest relents Village won’t appeal state ruling, says administrator Matt Walsh By AMARIS E. RODRIGUEZ Staff Reporter

In a legal battle which has been fought since 1998, Keystone Montessori School has bested River Forest’s village government and been granted a nonprofit property tax exemption on its North Avenue facility by a state government agency. Most notably after years of appeals in multiple court venues and in front of state agencies, River Forest accepts the outcome and will not make any further efforts to collect property taxes from the school, according to Village Administrator Matt Walsh. “The village is not planning to appeal the decision,” Walsh said. “We have accepted the recommendation from the ALJ.
