VALUATIONS
Valuations for insurance, probate or family division are undertaken on either a quotation basis or a small percentage plus travelling expenses. The charge is remitted on all property valued that is sold through Peter Webb Galleries Ltd. within a reasonable time.

1. The highest bidder to be the purchaser, subject to the Auctioneers having a right to refuse the bidding of any person. Should any dispute arise as to the biddings, the lot in dispute to be immediately put up for sale again at the preceding bidding, or the Auctioneers may declare the purchaser.
2. No person shall advance less at a bid than a sum to be nominated by the Auctioneer and no bid shall be retracted.
3. All lots are sold subject to the right of the seller or his agent to bid or else to impose a reserve.
4. The purchaser to give his name, address and to pay down 10 per cent of the purchase money in part payment thereof. In default of any of which matters the lot or lots purchased may be inmediately put up again and re-sold.
5. All lots are sold as shown and with all faults, imperfections, and errors to description. The Auctioneers act as agents; they have full discretion to refuse any oidding or to withdraw any lot or lots from the sale without in either case giving any reason; neither they nor the Vendor are responsible for errors of description or for genuineness or authenticity of any lot or for any fault or defect in it, and make no warranty whatever.
6.
The lots are at the buyer's risk from the fall of the hammer and are to be taken away at the buyer's expense, in default of which Auctioneers will not hold themselves responsible if the same are lost, stolen, damaged, or otherwise destroyed, but they will be left at sole risk of the purchaser. If the lots are not cleared or paid for, they may then be sold immediately either publicly or by private treaty, without any notice being given to the defaulter.
7. Upon failure of the purchaser to comply with any of the above conditions the money deposited in part payment shall be forfeited, and the defaulter shall make good any loss arising from the re-sale, together with the charges and expenses in respect of both sales.
8. No goods are to be removed while selling is in progress. Receipted invoices must be produced prior to delivery of any lot. The Auctioneers reserve the right to request identific a tion in the case of any purchaser not known to the Auctioneer who pays by cheque. Charging to credit cards will n o t be acc epted as a means o f payment.

An lsphahan rug of the very finest quality, silk warp and wefts with an extremely finely knotted woollen pile with many individual bird and floral elements in the design knotted in silk. The all over scrolling and bird rootif is on an ivory field, predominant colour being red and blue.
This outstanding example of the art of Persian carpet making is claimed to have been a gift from the Royal Family of Persia early this century and its exceptional quality supports this claim.
