Office of Student Financial Services Is the balance due in full? After deducting the deposit, financial aid and/or scholarships, approximately half of the annual balance will be due on August 3rd for the fall semester and the other half on December 16th for the spring semester. If you plan on borrowing or enrolling in the payment plan, we strongly recommend that you plan for the entire year instead of applying each semester.
When will I receive a financial aid award? Beginning in March, financial aid award letters are mailed to accepted students who have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If the financial aid award is estimated additional information may be required to verify your eligibility for financial aid. Please contact us if you have questions regarding the status of your application.
How do I complete the process for a Federal Stafford Loan? If you received a Federal Stafford Loan as part of your financial aid award and you are planning to borrow with this loan, you are required to complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and an entrance interview. Both of these requirements may be completed online. From the Emmanuel College web site, click on “Tuition & Aid,” then “Scholarships & Financial Aid,” and then “Federal Stafford Loan.” For the loan to be deducted from your tuition bill, we encourage you to complete this paperwork by June 15th; however should you require assistance, please contact our office to complete this process during summer orientation.
What room and board options are available? Most students are placed in a standard double room. Economy triples may be available for students who wish to save $2,500 off the cost of a standard double room. Students will receive information on room selection over the summer. All resident students are required to have a meal plan, which is included in the cost of room and board. The standard meal plan includes 15 meals per week and $95 in “Flex Dollars” per semester (can be used in the Atrium and Muddy River Café). Students have the option of changing this plan to 19 meals per week with $25 flex dollars at no cost.
Can I park on campus? On-campus parking is extremely limited and is only available to commuter students who do not have access to public transportation and is offered on a first come first served basis. Parking applications are available in the Office of the Vice-President for Student Affairs. The parking cost for the 2011-2012 year is $375 per semester for a fulltime student and $225 for a part-time student.
Do I need to apply for financial aid every year?
Student Employment Emmanuel College strives to assist students with educational costs by offering on- and off- campus part-time employment opportunities. On-campus employment opportunities are available in academic departments, the residence halls and in administrative offices such as the library and athletic offices. All students are eligible to apply for on-campus positions; however, a limited number of offcampus partnerships are only available to students awarded Federal Work Study. In addition to the jobs available through the College, our location affords students the opportunity to find off-campus jobs within walking distance of the campus. Please note: FWS cannot be deducted from the bill as students are paid every two weeks for hours worked.
To be considered for need-based financial aid, including federal student and parent loans, you must submit a FAFSA (and other documents as requested) each year by the college’s priority filing date of March 1st. The renewal of aid is contingent upon continued demonstration of financial need as determined in prior years, Satisfactory Academic Progress (as outlined in the Academic Catalog), the same enrollment and housing status as the prior year, and the government/college’s availability of funding.
