Today’s race programme promises another afternoon of high-quality, competitive racing, with a strong field of staying chasers set to line up for the highlight of the day.
Our feature race is the ever-popular QuinnBet Highland National Handicap Chase, run over an extended 3 miles 6 furlongs, the longest race of the Perth season. It consistently attracts a fiercely competitive field, and this year looks no exception, with plenty of familiar and exciting names set to take their chance.
We are extremely grateful for the support of today’s sponsors, including QuinnBet, GS Group and Racing TV Their continued backing is vital in enabling us to stage racing of this calibre.
Our thanks also go to all the owners, trainers, jockeys and stable staff for their support in bringing such talented runners to Perth throughout the Festival.
Finally, a very warm welcome to all of our racegoers. You are what makes the Perth Festival so special, and we hope you’ve enjoyed the past few days with us. Do stay on after racing to continue the celebrations in The Barn, with live music from Carbon Copy helping to round off the Festival in style.
Good luck, enjoy the racing, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Star Ratings Explained
Once a horse’s ability has been assessed by the Official BHA Handicapper it is given an official rating. This is an assessment that determines how much weight it shall carry compared to the other runners. In simple terms a horse rated 100 carries 2lbs less than a horse rated 102. A rating over 130 is well above average and the winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup is normally rated over 160. Most handicap races have an upper rating limit to encourage runners of similar ability to take part and make a competitive race e.g. 0-110, and a 28lb weight-range.
HURDLE RACES
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
HHHHH Selected to win the race
HHHHI Good chance of being placed.
HHHII By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims.
HHIII Unlikely to win but not totally without hope
HIIII Can be given little or no chance.
One Fit Padded Hurdle: The ‘One Fit’ design is a modified hurdle frame with a custom fitting close-cell foam pad replacing the traditional birch. The hurdle was developed with the objective of reducing both the faller rate and the risk of injury as the result of a fall. They are 3ft high and placed in the ground at an attractive angle to encourage horses to jump them fluently. At Perth there are five flights of Hurdles on the course. Eight are jumped in a two mile race nine in a race over two miles and five furlongs and eleven in a race over three miles.
STEEPLE CHASES
Steeplechase fences are made from hardwood frames stuffed tightly with birch. When making a fence the birch is packed in at a height of approximately 6ft, then cut down to a maximum height of 4ft 6” There are five ‘plain fences’ on the course at Perth and two ‘open ditches’. An Open Ditch is the same height as a plain fence but has a small ditch in front of the fence to make them a bigger test for the horse and rider At Perth there are two open ditches on the course, the first fence in the straight and the first down the back straight. Perth is one of the last remaining racecourses to have a Water Jump, this is situated in front of the main Grandstand and is much smaller than the other fences, with a 6ft wide water jump behind a small birch fence. There are eight steeplechase fences on the course. Twelve are jumped in a race over two miles, fifteen over two miles and four furlongs and nineteen in races over three miles.
WEIGHT FOR AGE RACES
These races are designed to provide a fair and competitive contest before a horse is allocated a weight, according to his ability to run in a Handicap. These races are therefore normally for young horses aged from 3 to 5-y-o. As a 5-y-o is deemed to be stronger than a 3-y-o he/she will be made a to carry a little more weight. Once a horse has won a weight for age race he/she will be asked to carry a ‘penalty’; this is normally an additional 7lbs. Once a horse has won or run three times in a Weight for Age race he can be assessed and given a weight in a Handicap Race

Horse Welfare
Racing’s top priority is the safety and welfare of horse and rider People join the racing industry because they share a genuine love for horses. Like most sports, racing carries risks, however, we work to ensure that no death or injury occurs which could have been prevented. Horses have the right to a decent and fulfilling life, both during their racing career and afterwards. We are committed to minimising risks, dealing quickly and humanely with injuries, and maintaining the highest possible quality of life for the animals in our care. It is now standard practice for screens to be erected round any horse receiving veterinary attention on the course This does not reflect the severity of the injury but allows the vet some privacy in which to administer treatment and provides the horse with a calm environment in which to make a recovery Please therefore do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse
No Smoking
Smoking or vaping is not permitted in any enclosed public places within Perth Racecourse It is an offence to smoke or knowingly to permit smoking in any enclosed areas of the Racecourse and where you see the no smoking sign.

WHISTLE STOP TOUR: Following its run on 21/2/2026 it was reported that the horse was never travelling. HIGHLAND FASHION: Following its run on 1/2/2026 it was reported that the horse was found to have bled.
Probable S.P’s: 4-1 Jupiter des Mottes (FR), 6-1 Roaring Conquest (IRE), 7-1 Jukebox Fury (IRE), 10-1 Highland Fashion (GB), 12-1 Inferno Sacree (FR), 14-1 Go To War (IRE), 16-1 Sleedagh (IRE), La Zoubida (FR), Gwennie May Star (FR), 20-1 Wa Wa (IRE), 22-1 Whistle Stop Tour (IRE), 28-1 Musique de Fee (IRE)
ROARING CONQUEST wasted no time getting back on track when sixth in a valuable handicap at Uttoxeter on his most recent outing and is fancied to capitalise on this drop in grade, especially with the longer trip likely to suit. Jukebox Fury is interesting at the foot of the weights with a recent run under his belt and could well resume his progress, while Jupiter des Mottes has the potential for better still given his lightly-raced profile.

HORSE WELFARE
Racing’s top priority is the safety and welfare of horse and rider People join the racing industry because they share a genuine love for horses. Like most sports, racing carries risks, however, we work to ensure that no death or injury occurs which could have been prevented. Horses have the right to a decent and fulfilling life. We are committed to minimising risks, dealing quickly and humanely with injuries and maintaining the highest possible quality of life for the animals in our care.
It is now standard practice for screens to be erected around any horse receiving veterinary attention on the course This does not reflect the severity of the injury, but allows the vet some privacy in which to administer treatment and provides the horse with a calm environment in which to make a recovery Please therefore do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse
