THE JOCKEY CLUB
WELCOMES YOU
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for today EBF and Fairfax Saddles, who also generously support our Leading Trainer and Jockey series which run throughout the season. You can see the current standings that James Doyle is the leading jockey, with John and Thady Gosden at the top of the trainers.
We have seven exciting races today, five of which are Jockey Club Grassroots Series finals, qualifiers for which have been taking place since early May this year The aim of the Grassroots Series is to offer enhanced prize money to horses who tend to do their racing at a notch or two below Group or Listed level. This year sees the first running of the Grassroots Mile Series, which takes the total prize money for the day to over £160,000.
As well as the excellent racing this afternoon, we hope you will make the most of Nottingham’s many bars, food outlets and restaurants in this relaxed and friendly setting.
As our season draws to a close, we are looking ahead to our autumn season of racing with four thrilling fixtures remaining of our 2022 flat season. Last year, our November fixture played host to some great two year old racing, including a win by Desert Crown, who went on to victor in this year’s Cazoo Derby. Alongside this, we are also excited to be hosting our fireworks night on Saturday 29th October This is an opportunity to get all the family together and head down to enjoy the evening. Tickets for all these events are available on our website www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/nottingham
I hope that you have a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon here at Nottingham Racecourse and wish all the horses and their connections the very best of luck.

PLAY SMARTER
TEPHI has improved with each run, pulling 6 lengths clear of the third when going close at Beverley 2 weeks ago, and she looks the one to beat. Poseidon Prince has already been gelded but is still a newcomer to note for his top yard, while Seantrabh is worth another chance to confirm debut promise having found the step up to listed level too much for him.
