The fun doesn’t stop at the last race today; we have the excellent Take A Chance On Us performing after racing in the Paddock Suite Bar which is on the first floor of the main grandstand. Everyone is welcome to come along, but bear in mind the room does have a capacity limit, and it is first come first served. They will be belting out all of your ABBA favourites. In addition there’s lots of ABBA themed fun happening! Today sees the second meeting of the second half of our summer season. We have again managed to stage all racedays so far despite all the vagaries and challenges of the Devon weather! After today’s fixture we quickly move on to our next one which is on Monday 7th September. Friday 18th September once again sees us play host to the finale of the Sun Racing Summer Jumps Championships so lots of stories from across the summer all coming together to culminate in an exciting finale not to be missed. Our ever-popular Autumn Saturday fixture is on 17th October, featuring the high-quality Intermediate Chase and we round of with the Halloween Family Fun Day on Wednesday 28th October with the legendary pumpkin carving making its return. OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions.
