Welcome to Market Rasen Racecourse A very festive welcome to Market Rasen for one of our most popular racedays, Rand Farm Park Boxing Day at the Races. I would like to thank our headline sponsor Rand Farm Park, as well as Chestnut Homes and Christopher Liesack for their very generous support of today's racing. We have seven fantastic races for you to enjoy today, with the feature race being the Chris Liesack Lincolnshire National Handicap Chase. This prestigious race is run over a distance of just under three and a half miles and requires stamina and class to win. Our opening race, the Chestnut Homes Selling Handicap Hurdle, will provide a different spectacle, as the winner of the race will be sold at auction live in our winner's enclosure immediately afterwards. Make sure you head down to watch – or perhaps even make a bid. The Rand Farm Park Silver Jubilee Novices' Hurdle provides an opportunity for talented horses with limited experience, so it is worth keeping an eye on the winner and those who perform well. The same can be said of the Chestnut Homes Novices' Limited Handicap Chase. You need not miss the action from our sister racecourse, Kempton Park, where today's Grade 1 Ladbrokes King George VI Chase takes centre stage. The race will be shown live on both the big screen and smaller screens around Market Rasen at 3.05. Please note that, as per government guidance, face coverings are mandatory in all indoor spaces except when eating and drinking, while we continue to recommend checking in via the NHS COVID-19 app. QR codes remain located around the racecourse to enable you to check in should you wish to. Victor Lucas Bar Victor Lucas was responsible for the running of Market Rasen Racecourse from 1945 until his death in 1971; he planned the layout of the course, paddock, parade ring, stands and weighing room, which has remained largely in place until today!
