Welcome to Charity Day here at Ludlow.
Today we are supporting Educating Kids Outdoors, a charity that offers fun, outdoor experiences for children, giving them freedom to explore, discover and experience new ideas and challenges independently.
In the marquee today there will be a live auction with some fantastic lots to raise important funds, as well as a charity race at the end of the day. Please do stay to watch the charity race at 5.10pm to support the riders for their fundraising efforts!
A big thank you to our sponsors today, Lycetts Insurance, WR Partners, Omnia Art, Bromfield Sand & Gravel, GC Rickards and EFG Harris Allday. We hope you all have a great day racing in the very welcome sunshine!
Best Wishes,

NOTE:
HOW TO BET WITH AN ON-COURSE BOOKMAKER
1. Pick your Racehorse, look around for the best odds on course, try to offer the correct stake money for your wager.
2. Ask the Bookmaker for your bet, name the horse, (the bookmaker won’t necessarily know it’s number). Listen to the bookmaker repeat your bet to his clerk, correct bookmaker if he makes a mistake and receive your Betting Ticket as a receipt for your bet.
3. Should your horse happen to win, present your betting ticket to the bookmaker, check your winnings
4. Check with the bookmaker when placing a bet, the Place Terms. Place Betting, not all on course bookmakers accept each way bets, i.e. for a win or a place
5. In the unlikely event of a dispute after adhering to this procedure, the bookmaker will tell the punter to approach the Ring Official, who will advise the racegoer as to his rights.
6. Some course bookmakers have minimum stakes. e.g.£1, £5 or £10 but small backers are catered for in the racecourse Betting Shops.
HOW TO READ THE RACECARD
EACH WAY BETTING

Betting Forecast: 11-8 Gaboriot (FR), 7-2 Killer Clown (IRE), 17-2 Frere d’Armes (FR), 9-1 Galileo Silver (IRE), 11-1 Guy (IRE), 16-1 Missed Tee (IRE), 50-1 Hold Onto The Line (IRE), Rewritetherules (IRE), Amidnightstar (GB)
Race Summary: GABORIOT didn’t get very far on his return to hunter chase company at Catterick earlier in the month but is worth another chance given his form in good-quality handicaps. Killer Clown was useful at his peak and clearly retains some ability based on his form in points, so is interesting on hunter debut, whilst the similarly once-useful Frere d’Armes may find this more suitable than the stamina test he faced at Fakenham last time

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicap races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
For novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating. Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h.
