We would firstly like to thank our sponsors for today, Weatherbys, G.C Rickards, The family & friends of the late Ben Chambers, Parkinson’s UK and Bob Cashmore & Michael Davies.
We wish you all a great day of racing and hope to see you back for our penultimate fixture; Powell & Co Construction Day on Wednesday 22nd April. This is followed by the season finale, and possibly our most anticipated fixture of the year, Radnor Hills Ladies Day on Sunday 10th May.
Best Wishes,

CLASSY TIPS
The following horse is running today in a race at least two grades lower than their previous race: 4.27 JACK HYDE (down 2 grades).
HOW TO BET WITH AN ON-COURSE BOOKMAKER
1. Pick your Racehorse, look around for the best odds on course, try to offer the correct stake money for your wager.
2. Ask the Bookmaker for your bet, name the horse, (the bookmaker won’t necessarily know it’s number). Listen to the bookmaker repeat your bet to his clerk, correct bookmaker if he makes a mistake and receive your Betting Ticket as a receipt for your bet.
3. Should your horse happen to win, present your betting ticket to the bookmaker, check your winnings
4. Check with the bookmaker when placing a bet, the Place Terms. Place Betting, not all on course bookmakers accept each way bets, i.e. for a win or a place
5. In the unlikely event of a dispute after adhering to this procedure, the bookmaker will tell the punter to approach the Ring Official, who will advise the racegoer as to his rights.
6. Some course bookmakers have minimum stakes. e.g.£1, £5 or £10 but small backers are catered for in the racecourse Betting Shops.
HOW TO READ THE RACECARD
EACH WAY BETTING
The RCA and the bookmaking association have agreed the following terms for all bookmakers offering each way betting on course.
NON-HANDICAPS
5 - 7 runners; One quarter the odds 1,2 8+ runners; One fifth the odds 1,2,3
HANDICAPS
5 - 7 runners; One quarter the odds 1,2 8 - 11 runners; One fifth the odds 1,2,3 12 - 15 runners; One quarter the odds 1,2,3
16+ runners; One quarter the odds 1,2,3,4
All bookmakers must display on their boards whether they are betting each way or to win only.

FAIRWAY CAFE
Sometimes, you just need a quick snack or perhaps you fancy a full English breakfast roll?! Whatever it is, the Fairway Cafe is sure to have it This Cafe is situated at the side of the Windsor Marquee and is more of a low-key affair There are no frills here, just good food and a fully stocked, licensed bar. You may just catch some of the grooms and trainers grabbing a bite here too...
It is an absolute pleasure to be sponsoring two races across the card at Ludlow this afternoon and the opening Weatherbys nhstallions.co.uk Novices’ Hurdle looksacompetitivecontest.
Archie Watson’s 82-rated Flat performer Scarlet Moon won five timesonthelevelbeforeswitchingto hurdles, winning a maiden hurdle at Warwick and more recently staying on well to finish third in the Scottish Triumph Hurdle on his penultimate start.Runner-uplasttimeatStratford, he sets the standard on official ratings.

Fergal O’Brien’s Snatch A Glance won a bumper here in good style in October and both of his starts over hurdles have also come here at Ludlow. Although a messy race, thePassing Glancegeldingknuckled down well to hold on and score over course and distance when last seen, returning to the scene here on the backofashortbreak.
A useful handicapper on the Flat for Ed Walker (rated 83), King’sScholar is an interesting recruit to hurdles on stabledebutforOllyMurphy.

TIMEFORM VIEW Often finds less than looks likely but is a 4-time winner over fences. Absent 18 months prior to this season but has shown he retains all his ability when placed over 3m at Kempton and Ascot in recent months.
TIMEFORM VIEW Back-to-back chase winner Iast season but has found it tougher this time round. Was never a threat when sixth at Musselburgh last time in a race which he won in 2025. Being eased another 2lb can only help but others arrive with more pressing claims.

Race Summary:
Although ANNSAM has failed to complete on both starts since his course win in December it wasn’t his fault last time (hampered and unseated) and he’s taken to add to his 2023 success in this same contest. Your Darling’s tendency to find little off the bridle means he isn’t one for maximum faith but he has plenty of class for this grade and is taken to fill the forecast spot.

OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicap races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
For novice steeple chasers, the latest hurdle race rating may be shown until such time as the Handicappers allot a separate steeple chase rating. Such ratings are prefixed by the letter h.
