Some Of Our Clients
Proudly supporting LOROS as our charity of the year
Welcome to our first flat meeting of the season.
8 races today commencing at 1.52pm until 5.22pm.
Important points to note today are: Due to our extensive Owners and Trainers refurbishment (visuals within this Racecard) our Club Room and 1st floor boxes are closed today so for our Owners and Trainers, we have provided the Paddock Pavilion for dining plus Premier Rooms 1 and 2 where you will find large televisions, a bar, complimentary tea and coffee and a two course meal plus private betting facilities and you may also use the Club Terrace area should you so wish. For our Annual badge holders, you have the Paddock Marquee and The Club Terrace. Should any member of the public wish to dine in the warmth then we do have space available to dine in the Nelson restaurant so please simply pop up should you wish to enquire. (menu within this Racecard)
We are pleased to announce the opening of our new public Paddock Bar where you will also find a Tote kiosk and there is also a further Tote kiosk near the turnstiles and Paddock Pavilion.
Please be aware that we no longer accept cash at all our bar and food outlets, only debit or credit cards. Please be assured that turnstiles and betting facilities will continue to accept cash. For those customers who either forget their cards or do not possess a debit card or credit card, we have opened “voucher outlets” where you will be able to exchange your cash for vouchers and should you not spend your vouchers on the day you will be able to exchange them back for cash from the main office before you leave (up to 30 minutes after the last race), or use them on a future meeting. Today the outlet is situated at the Main Office. Public bars and food stands will close today immediately following the final race and the racecourse will close shortly after. Please take a look at the racecourse map within your racecard to familiarise yourself with our facilities and in particular the location of our first aid unit where we have 2 qualified staff to look after any slips, trips or bumps you may have and hopefully nothing more serious.
PLEASE NOTE: OUR 2026 COORS RACEDAY TAKES PLACE ON SATURDAY 25TH APRIL FEATURING DENISE VAN OUTEN AND THE 4TH JULY LADIES DAY FEATURING HEATHER SMALL WITH SPECIAL GUESTS GO WEST.
HAVE A GREAT DAY AND WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN FOR COORS SUPER SATURDAY ON 25TH APRIL.

Star Ratings Explained:
Form Figures
Jockey
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below: ★★★★★ Selected to win the race.
Good chance of being placed.
By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
Unlikely to win but not totally without hope
Can be given little or no chance
Official BHA Ratings
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

CRIMSON ROSE hasn’t been seen since her Newmarket maiden win last July but appeals as one who can make up for lost time and is preferred to Westport, who created a good impression when scoring on his all-weather debut last month. Nevasca Cinza also has the form to figure, while very well-bred newcomer Railwayman would also firmly enter the reckoning if the betting suggests he’s fancied.

Horse Welfare at Leicester Racecourse
At every meeting at Leicester Racecourse there are two specially-qualified equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all horses in action. During the race one vet will be following the runners and can attend to a horse in the same response time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating injured jockeys The second vet is based below the stewards box in the grandstand, is in radio contact with his colleague following the runners, and can respond immediately to any uncovered emergency. In addition there is a third vet, a British Horseracing Authority Veterinary team and the stewards
The Racecourse also employs a specialist Horse Ambulance Team, equipped with a modern equine ambulance to enable injured horses to be transported safely to a veterinary hospital for treatment. It is now standard practice for screens to be erected around any horse receiving veterinary attention on the course This does not reflect on the severity of an injury, but allows the vet some privacy in which to administer treatment and provides the horse with a calm environment in which to make a recovery. Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse

Unless clearly displayed otherwise, all each-way bets except ante-post bets will be settled on the actual number of starters according to the following racecourse place terms: -
• Fewer than 3 runners—all to win
• 3 or 4 runners - all to win. Where a bookmaker wishes to depart from this default position he may offer place terms for 3 or 4 runners this must be at 1/5 odds a place 1-2.
• 5-7 runners -1/4 odds a place 1-2
• 8 or more runners -1/5 odds a place 1-2-3
• Handicaps with 12-15 runners - 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3
• Handicaps with 16-21 runners - 1/5 odds a place 1-2-3-4
• Handicaps with 22 or more runners - 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3-4
Rule 4. Other than ‘first past the post’ bets, all bets will be settled according to the result as announced at the ‘Weighed-In’ with the following exceptions:
(A) Single ante-post bets, being made before 10 a.m. on the day of the final declarations will be void under the following circumstances: -
i) If the race is abandoned;
ii) If the race is declared void;
iii) If the Conditions of the race entry are changed prior to the start of the race;
iv) If the venue is altered; or
v) If a horse is eliminated under the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) Rules of Racing, schedule 8 of the Race Administration Manual (F).
However, in any such circumstances accumulative ante-post bets (win or place) will stand and be settled at the ante-post price(s) laid on the remaining horse(s).
Any race in which a horse is supplemented does not affect Rule 4(A).
In the event of a race being postponed to another day, ante-post bets placed before the entries have closed will stand and will only be made void if the race is abandoned or made void, if the horse is balloted out or eliminated under the previously mentioned schedule 8 of the BHA’s Rules of Racing or if the venue is changed. Ante-post bets placed after the entries have closed will be void, except when the race is run at a later date at the same venue and entries for the race are not reopened, in which case bets will stand.
(B) Bets other than ante-post bets will be void if the race is abandoned or declared void. Bets will stand if the race is postponed to another day and final declarations stand. If the final declarations do not stand, bets will be void. Bets on a horse declared by the Starter ‘not to have started’ will be void.
(C) Where a bet has been placed and a price taken on the day of the race and there is subsequently an official notification that a horse has been withdrawn or has been declared ‘not to have started’, the liability of a layer against any horse remaining in the race, win or place, will be reduced in accordance with the following scale depending on the odds current against the withdrawn horse at the time of such official notification:
